^always a wise move. I'd invest half in that and spend the rest frivolously

Great 1 hour conversation today with my new Fidelity Rep. No recommendations, only questions from him about my income, assets beyond my 401K account with them, current/future expected monthly expenses, stomach for risk at this point in my life, when I will apply for Social Security (I don't expect much from that due to nearly 25 years with public agencies) and when I might expect to start drawing on the 401K assets.

We will meet again in 2 weeks from now that he has a feel for what I'm after. No pressure to do this or that, will only provide data, answer additional questions, and this service is at no cost to me. He stated there might be options available beyond my 4% high yield savings I got into when I bailed on my mutual funds on March 1 of this year that can earn more without being so influenced by the current state of things.

My last post made yours appear .... fixed :)

I've been with Fidelity forever ... my last corp gig had our 401K stuff with them, but I kept it all in a brokerage acct with me controlling ALL options not available under their 401k stuff. I've never used them other than their online accts tho' and research & trades ... FREE :)

I don't pay fees ... don't know how they make a buck off me .... curious I is ;)

I reckon it's been almost 30 years now ... dayum :D

I reported one of BillYates threads that he's gone back and added a link to.

This thread is working fine for me. I have my board preferences set to 40 posts per page, so I usually see half as many pages as most folks. I'm on page 2 which is likely page 3 for most folks.

This place is really going downhill isn't it? I was thinking the same thing yesterday.

I'd spend it on bot destroyer tech.

JEPQ or QQQI, both pay 13-15% dividend.

$250K would get me a nice 55' blue water sailboat.
My next post would be about a month later from the Marquesas Islands.

When your are 12 miles out to sea, it's your world government.
Article 1 - NO tops allowed on the bow :)

My vote, today? Half in VT, other half in money market. The money market you pick depends on your situation, investigate with mm optimizer.

Keep that powder dry in case of market downturn and meanwhile enjoy the rising rates.
