Sounds like a physical version of a left handed compliment. I would challenge him to a duel. Slap him across the face with a glove in your left hand. Pistols at 20 paces.

I was but only because I envied your e'lan and dancing prowess.

Only time I’ve offered my left hand, was when I was sitting in a car and somebody walked up to the window,or in a position that offering my right hand was impractical.

I went to my FLAP to get a replacement battery, and when the guy was finished installing it, I offered my fist to give him a fist bump. He put his palm out, looked at me and said, I thought you were going to give me something…🤪

Are you left handed?

sc_rufctr 04-21-2025 09:48 PM

Personally I wouldn't be offended if someone offered me their left hand. Sometime stuff happens or they may have an injury that's not obvious.

What would offend me is if I offered my hand and they ignored it.

I'm left-handed .... so I've always extended my left middle finger... hmmm.

Folks just seemed to take it wrong too ... now I know why.

I will use the right finger from now on :D

Maybe he thought you were putting out your left hand?

I agree with this....I would think it was odd, but wouldn't spend more than 10 seconds pondering it. I would just chalk this up to "people are odd and who cares?". Now as you said, if someone refuses a handshake, that is a different deal altogether.

this sounds like a Curb Your Enthusiasm plot

A Larry David plot.

Quigley would take him out right handed or left!

^I just watched Quigley the other night, good flick. Too bad he couldn't have dropped him off a cliff though, or off the roof of the house.

She has a great rack in that movie too.

As for the left hand thing, had he not just shaken with his right to his brothers, I would have taken it as a F you too. Strange, what does your wife think?

Was?

;)

Seems weird especially since he just used his right hand for several other people.

Only thing I could think of it that makes it benign is if either of you were in an awkward physical position causing him to extend his other hand?

Steve Carlton 04-22-2025 01:33 PM

Maybe he thought you might crush his special hand.

I've done it a few times, but it was because I was shaking Bob Dole's hand. Really.

I think Gene Krupa used to shake with his left hand, claiming it was underdeveloped.

911 Rod 04-23-2025 08:08 AM

Isn't it like a secret handshake for gay people when they greet each other?

Steve Carlton 04-23-2025 10:16 AM

Was he a Scout, by chance?

LMAO!

What's wrong with the cartoon is that they are still holding hands in the last 2 panes.
