I hear you.
Mine were married in the Depression, had raised 9 others before I came along. My life seems like a walk in the park by comparison.
Bless them.

Best
Les

Both of my parents were born in 1930. They were married when they were 21, had my brother when they were 22. The were married for 52 years before mom died. I grew up in the Leave it to Beaver world. Mom never vacuumed the house in a fancy dress, high heels while wearing pearls, like Beaver's mom however!

I did not get married until I was 37 when I finally met Mrs. Carrera, and we were married a year later. I wish we could have found each other sooner.

Not sure if this link works, but you can request a Presidential Greeting. Last time I saw one it had a stamped signature, but the presidential seal was embossed into it.

I have friends who are married for 70+ years. I find it amazing. Anybody who makes it though life together like that should definitely be congratulated. Most people have to overcome lots of problems and bariers over that amount of time.

We hit 50 years next year. That seems like a lot until you hear of folks with 70. What a wonderful thing/occasion!

I had no idea you were German. This changes everything.

My grandmother's grandmother's nickname was Mutti and her husband's was Futti. I bet Futti is spelled wrong but I'll bet a derivitive of Vater/Vatta/and several more close spellings. I don't even think they came over.

I have many relatives who could have made it to 70 years but time just runs out for one of them. No divorces to speak of which is not uncommon until into the 60's but you have to get married early and live a long long time.
