The McMurtry Spéirling has driven upside down
I don't have a head for analytics, or math, or physics. But Engineering Explained has drawn up some figures describing downforce with the Spéirling , the Viper Extreme and a FE single seater that I think '12 year old me' might have found compelling enough to try a lot harder in math class in order to grasp the concepts - because I WANT to grasp these concepts, but I don't have the skills or cognitive apparatus required to do more that appreciate what all the engineers involved with aero, vis-a-vis racing, are doing with downforce. The shots of two Spéirlings racing is almost like an AI movie!

I saw the Chris Harris version of that. Chris actually went upside down, but did not move forward.
I wonder what that car will cost. It is amazing what a large fan can do, but I don't see it working on the street. Imagine the sand and road debris that thing will be sucking up, and dumping on everyone else on the road. |
I too struggle to get my head around how fast this car is
If there is space for a large enough battery this car would obliterate the Pikes Peak hillclimb record If McMurty ever announce they're doing it I would fly over to watch in person history being made |
