Malignancy at the Registry

In America you have the right to know who your accusers are. This country is not a totalitarian state like the Soviet Union, where Freedom of Speech was met with a bullet in the back of the head by unknown accusers. Yet it seems like the Registry Board is run in exactly that fashion, where a kangaroo court can determine your fate.... Lets see in the light of day the names of those people who have "complained" about the "nature" and "frequency" of the posts I have made.

Aurel 07-06-2003 06:31 PM

I have nothing to do with the registry, but from the rudeness and irreseponsibly provocative tone of your posts on this board, I can understand what kind of grief the folks at the registry have found against you. Some may like it here, others may not like it there...no big deal. Not worth a thread anyways. When people feel agressed or uncomfortable with you, they have a right to shut you down without further explanation, just like the people in some dictartorship rebel against their dictator, for YOU are the dictatore, the DEUCE, whose ego cannot accept to be silenced.

TO SHUT UP OR NOT TO SHUT UP

Thw point of this thread isn't about being rude, but who is making the complaints? In America you have the RIGHT to confront your acusers....unlike some other countries where innuendo, and insinuation is all it takesw to condemn a person.

speeder 07-06-2003 08:19 PM

Tabs, not to get to far off track here, but do you own a Porsche? If so, tell us about it. Some common ground might be found.

tabs 07-06-2003 08:37 PM

Sure Do

A Ivory White 69 911S...very orginal CA car...175,000 miles, needs motor overhaul...have good percentage of service records. Owned by me since 1990.

speeder 07-06-2003 08:38 PM

In a court of law you have a right to confront your accusers, not necessarily on an internet forum or other social circumstance. In those places, people do have a right which you are conveniently forgetting, that being the right to associate or not associate with whomever they choose. Something tells me that this is not the first time that someone has asserted that right with you, it is probably a sore spot, huh? ;) In fact, you know that if you tried to, um, share your wisdom w/ people in a face-to-face context as you do here, they could, would, and probably have asserted their right to not be bothered by you, correct?

I happen to not be particularly bothered by your posts, (although I seldom agree w/ your viewpoints), but a little bit of maturity and respect for others would go a long way towards solving your problems w/ people, IMO. Frankly, I've always been under the impression that you *enjoy* the enmity of the various online communities that you post on, do you not? If so, what is the problem? You don't drive a Porsche, right? Just go on a testicular cancer survivors board, (or something), and give 'em hell! You will die of old age before you exhaust the internet, it's almost infinite!

And one last thing: it is impossible to respect someone who cannot even stand behind their typing finger, changing posts like you just did above. Either think before you type or do not, but live w/ your words.

speeder 07-06-2003 08:43 PM

OK, I see that you do own a Porsche. And a cool one, to boot! Does it give you any pleasure, or is it just a possession weighing you down? If it needs rebuilding and $$ is tight, I know the feeling of it being a weight, but it can change back to a positive if you bite the bullet and fix it.

tabs 07-06-2003 08:57 PM

Good Man Speeder

Something to bite my teeth into...in other word someone to discuss or debate things with.

U mean the French thinking tha Jerry Lewis is a Genius...remark.

I hide nothing, I just thought the better of it and stayed focused on the orginal point of the thread..thats all.

To associate or not to associate...depends on whether they are a capitive audience or not?

My image is a matter of perception all you read ain't necessarily real...

However I digress...the point of this thread is that, I would like to know who the whiners and complainers are....are they the ones who have called me names and now go off crying to mama once they get their feelings hurt? As a counterpoint I don't go off crying to mama when someone offends me, I stand up like a man and take my lumps.

tabs 07-06-2003 09:03 PM

If I din't own that car...i would be out looking for one...I would feel naked without that car...sorta incomplete...i've had friends tell me to get rid of that piece...I tell them they will have to pry the keys from my dead fingers...

So whether I drive it or not...the satisfaction is that I have what I considered to be my dream car...

speeder 07-06-2003 09:14 PM

Well, I guess that the bottom line is that these online communities are all privately run, unless there is one run by the govt.(?) So....., therefore whomever runs or moderates them can pretty much do as they please, for better or worse. I personally do not believe in silencing anyone, public forum or not, but that's just me. Maybe if they cross some generally agreed upon "line", (offensive like porn in the wrong setting, for instance), but I have not seen anything like that from you, Tabs, more like you just like getting a reaction from people, right?
So I have a feeling that you are probably not going to get an audience with whomever is complaining about you, I'd just let it go, but of course do what you want.

tabs 07-06-2003 09:33 PM

Reaction goes both ways...positive and negative.. I have a view point some people like it others don't. Thats their prerogative, and I don't fault anybody for that so long as you have a reasoned opinion.

It doesn't even dawn on me to complain to managment if someone has been lets say rude to me...Yet there are people who at the drop of a hat will go off complaining... I want to be able to tell if they have any hidden agenda in complaining and the only way to tell that is to see who they are and what their specfic complaint is. ...Is that too much to ask...

speeder 07-06-2003 09:44 PM

Unfortunately for your wishes, it probably is too much to ask in this case, since I doubt that it will happen.

But then again, what do I know? I've never even been on that board, as far as I know. And a one week suspension sounds more like a warning than a banishment to me, maybe you just need to adjust your message to the audience a little? In reality, you are sort of like a talk radio host, (Hmmm, new career for you?), they are always pushing the envelope, testing the waters, seeing what the audience will take? Now you know, so no big deal, right?

Bill Douglas 07-07-2003 12:40 AM

Ha, I was right! I knew you guys would be friends one day.

ted 07-07-2003 06:34 AM

Look what they've done to me!
Malignancy at the Registry,
Banned from the Registry.

A person that can take responsibility for their own actions can ask and answer the question:
What have I done to myself?

Well, Tabs what have you done to yourself to earn a week on the beach at the S board?

nostatic 07-07-2003 07:48 AM

There are no "American priciples" invoved here but rather some psychological foibles and/or neuroses.

People find meaning in strange places, and the appetite for attention can be overwhelming. Being "banned" provides a strange mix of opportunity for new avenues, and threat of losing established ones.

An interesting psych study, albeit limited. The entertainment value drops quickly though, like a reality TV show.

The effect is more cumulative than anything else...this time around I did very little. I answered a fair number of posts mostly giving straight forward answers. However I don't think the R Gruppe liked being called a bunch of "Dimwits" "Halfwits" and "Nitwits"

The good that men do is forgotten with their bones, yet the evil that they do lives on...

Ok....Maybe the ennui of the jaded or debased intellectually?

Only problem with picking up a stick in the middle is that your TRAPPED between both ends.
