Jeremy Renner in serious snow plow accident
As of now, he's in critical, but stable condition. I hope he makes a good recovery from this. It sounds like a savage accident.

The Daily Mail did a fairly extensive update on that story today, with some good pictures of the cat and the area in question.

I'm sure he'll live. I suspect that really sucks. It could have been worse, at least he didn't end up like Anton Yelchin.
I can't even imagine how you run over yourself with something like that.

That must be one helluva driveway. Maybe he walked in front of it for some reason and it just rolled forward.

Hopefully he recovers well....but I really don't know who Renner is.
Is he in movies?

He was in one of the Bourne movies, the one that didn't feature Matt Damon. He was also Hawkeye in the Marvel movies (mostly Avengers, I think), as well as Wind River, Dahmer, Hurt Locker, etc....

That's what I was thinking, hope he keeps his leg and can walk. I feel like that'd be a pretty good outcome. I'm guessing he's unlikely to be running any marathons or doing any ballet, but if he heals that well, hurrah! More power to him!

I was so confused by the initial stories which said he was run over by a snowplow at his home. What? He lives in LA. (His kids go to a local elementary school in Studio City.) There's no snow here.
Oh, he has a home in Tahoe. OK, that makes more sense. He's lucky his neighbor's a doctor who could fashion a tourniquet. Best wishes for a successful recovery.

I’m reading blunt force trauma to the chest as well.
Noah, I’ve read he lived in Reno, Nevada? |

The first couple articles I read didn't specify the location of his home. I had no idea where the newspaper or TV station were based (Reno). I just assumed that when a Reno-based news outlet reported "home", snowplow, and Truckee Fire responding, that it was as up in the Tahoe area.

Yep, apparently he owns a house and ranch in the Lake Tahoe area, which gets snowfall that most people on earth seriously cannot imagine. 10' drops from one storm and this last week or two has seen storm after storm. He had just posted a picture on IG of his buried car.
When I first read the news story on this with no details given, I was trying to imagine how someone could be critically injured while plowing snow? I was thinking that he hit a buried solid object at high speed, that is one way that people get hurt. Another would be rolling off of a steep hill or mountain. Once I saw that it was a snow cat, (as opposed to a truck or wheeled vehicle), it made more sense. Snow cats can be very dangerous and kill people but this isn't how it usually goes down. Hoping for a miraculous recovery for him.

His house is up in the Reno/ Tahoe area. Looks to be very nice:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11591635/Inside-Jeremy-Renners-remote-Lake-Tahoe-ranch-star-spends-days-renovating-trucks.html It does seem a bit isolated in winter due to the long driveway entrance. Apparently he owns and operates a few snow clearing equipment and also owns a fire truck.... ![]() ![]() It was reported a safety feature on the Snowcat malfunctioned but don't know the accuracy of that report right now.

If that turns out to be true, it is going to be the mother of all personal injury suits. He will legitimately lose out on tens or hundreds of millions in income if he cannot work anymore because of a permanent handicap.

In the article I posted on his home, it seems that he is a bit of a heavy equipment aficionado and repairs and restores his collection. Don't know if that will figure into responsibility if there was a malfunction. Definitely a life changing incident no matter how it shakes out.

True. Wind River is a good film to see him outside of the Marvel/ Superhero genre. A nice, down to earth Central Valley/ Modesto boy. Everyone I know who has worked with him has nothing but good things to say.

Wind River made me realize how good an actor he is.

The Daily Mail article described the snowcat as "vintage". Could you sue Porsche if your 1988 G50 malfunctioned and caused an injury accident? I don't know. Maybe?

Absolutely, if a design defect or malfunction caused the injury. “Could you sue,” is never really the right question, though. This is America and anyone can sue for anything…prevailing in a lawsuit is a different matter. It always depends on the individual circumstances.
