NanoKnee joint replacement?
 

Has anyone gotten the nano knee procedure? What are your thoughts?

My father needs to get his knee done. He had one of his knees done a few years ago with good results, but he does not want to go through that again and is wondering if NanoKnee is a good alternative.

My pops had his done recently (mid Jan), although I don't know if it was the procedure you reference but it was much less recovery than what that joint replacement had entailed in years past. He is 79, but in great shape and as soon as cleared he was on his stationary bike a couple times a day. He's back at it already working around his property, doing well 4 months in recovery, if fact my mom ragged him for over doing it some.

He is traveling currently so I can't reach him to ask.

No experience with nano knee but previous ceramic implants have had significant issues requiring replacement and lawsuit losses. If still interested, get a "quote" for the implant(s) as a printed implant has to be a fair bit more $$ than a standard implant. Of course an insurance company is likely to balk.

The joint replacements stuff is modular withva variety of sizes. I don't see how you get much from custom 3D printing the parts. It sounds good, but is it really much better, or is it just marketing hype?

I am scheduled for knee surgery in just three days. A scoping procedure rather than a knee replacement is to take place... hopefully I can buy some extra time before the knee replacement has to occur. I looked at the website of Nanoknee and other than seeing statements about it being 'minimally invasive', I didn't see what is actually performed.

A few weeks ago I watched some videos concerning a regular knee replacement and, dang, that is scary stuff. What sets the Nanoknee procedure apart from a traditional knee replacement?
