I don't know what kind of truck it is, but I've watched her do that obstacle course about 5 times in the last couple of months; it made me not wonder if a woman could become a Ranger. Her name is Ida Mathilde Steensgaard and it never fails to give me chills when she celebrates at the end.

I wanna know how the heck she gets down from that last wall.

She certainly is fit.

This beast is a bit of a Frankenstein, fusing together elements of past and present vehicles, then stuffing it full of the latest in audiovisual technology. The Sugga gets its name and body from the 1957 Volvo Sugga TP21, originally used as an off-road communications vehicle by the Swedish Armed Forces during the Second World War. Despite its rugged good looks on the exterior, it’s what’s inside that counts. The original Volvo Sugga body is stretched, widened and merged with a Ford F350 chassis to give it the rock solid foundation needed to handle the thousands of kilometres that the vehicle covers each year.

Seemed odd to me that they had her mic'ed up and had the volume of that mic so high compared to the background noisy of her cheering section. Having her breather turned down a bit and the folks in the background a bit louder would have felt more natural. Reminded me of when they have 2 folks kissing in a movie and it sounds like one of them has the microphone in their mouth.

At first, I was thinking "that doesn't look that hard" (not that I could do most of it today, but thinking about when I was 16-25 and much more fit). But the course kept getting tougher and tougher. I feel confident that as a young fella, I probably could have gotten to the point where I could have done any of that, but that was certainly impressive.

Today, she'd be running circles, squares, and triangles around me. I think the obstacle that looked the toughest to me was what I would call the "rope ladder".

I guess she has a mic for training purposes and they can see if she is breathing right or maybe just to make it more intense who knows.

I wish I could make her breathe that hard.

A930Rocket 05-09-2025 04:58 PM

I’m breathing that hard, and all I did was watch her!
