Yes, they start off slow and build a friendship. Then who would have thought "I was on my way to buy an airline ticket to visit you but was struck down by cancer on the way there. My medical insurance was cancelled because I visualised a new life with you in a new country. So with no money I guess I'm going to die as I can't pay the medical bill."

What normal person shows their bank account to someone before they have even met, let alone after many, many dates?

She should tell him to let her know when he moves here to get in touch to meet for coffee.

Now to just wait until he asks for money, because is account is frozen until the house sale goes through!

If you can't meet up with your guy or gal on short notice, and in the flesh, you're not dating. You're deluding yourself.

Catfishing. Cut them off.

A friend showed me a pic of a military guy "courting her" as well as the other girl he had just met and forwarded a picture to her. Did an image search and the pictures showed up all over the place in unrelated websites.

Another young, super handsome German guy was interested in another lady friend and he had a construction business in Germany and a worker was killed in an accident and he was thrown in jail as responsible. Needed money for release but at least my friend saw through this one.

I wouldn't trust sheisse on the Internet. People can and do say anything to scam other folks out of money. It starts with believable stories but eventually turns into a monetary thing where folks get scammed. Lots of scams run on folks in their 60s and up.
