day on the gulf

Buddy and I hit Cedar Key with my canoe and trolling motor, had a great time checking out the porpoises and then cruised over to Astena Otie key (that island in background of video, not quite 2/3mile away) and fished for a few hours (catching wasn't so good... missed a keeper redfish that came off at the boat, got a couple of catfish, a ladyfish and a ray)

The Gulf of America ... I presume... after redfish .... mmm... is blackened redfish still OK to post about here ?

And didja know that blackened fish was created to hide the worms the (both black and red) drum get? Actually kinda common with inshore species...

A Cajun would would not want to hide that extra source of meat ... sounds fishy!

Paul Prudhomme almost singled handedly did them in with his blackened "fad" fish .... mmmmm
