My word for the day ...

Anthropomorphic

Now how many conversations can I manage to work this into ;)?

KFC911 05-26-2025 03:29 AM

My dawg just told me I was stoopid :D

^^^ Hold on....he's going to bring you a biscuit. :)

To be honest I could not work it into any conversations until I looked it up.
Even if I did use it my family and friends would question if I was human or not....

Do you remember that cat movie?

Try using quotidian without sounding effete.

My family plays a game (usually with my aged parents). We call it Kangaroo. We try to weave a word we have agreed to into a conversation as often as possible without getting called out. It is good fun. We have not been caught yet!

I think it's at the core of the funniest Far Side cartoons.

in school, I tricked a teacher. elementary teacher. I wasnt paying attention, and she caught me "en Flagrant!" (<- try that for a phrase of the day)

example. say the word was Anthropomorphic, and she gave us the definition.

she asked me, "Vash, please use the word Anthropomorphic in a sentence"
(she thought she had me)

Me (fourth grade, Ms. White -the favorite); "yes ma'am. "I do not know what the word Anthropomorphic means"

"I'm calling your mom....."

:D

When I was younger I used to list down some interesting words I came across things I read. Nowadays I don't read as much, or whatever I read has no interesting words...

The one I always remember is: masticate.

I still do this. read, and have to pause and go google a word. I do it on shows I watch as well. I replay it, so I can get it and then I look it up.

I actually learned En Flagrate this way. the lawyer lady said it on season one in Daredevil. hahahah..

Using big words makes people seem pretentious.

Funny. I worked in an Aluminum mill for a number of years. The Customer Service team roped in the Sales team to do "word builder" exercises. Meaning, a new word a day to learn. They complained that my words were too hard... Serious.
