PDR guys are magicians!
This was my car on Thursday with the dent in the front 1/4. Then this is the car on Friday afternoon. Incredible work!

It's amazing what a good one can do isn't it? I tried talking my son into learning that skill since he has a good eye for detail and he does vinyl wrap on vehicles. I figured the two would go hand in hand.

I had a magic pdr guy come out once for a big dent in rear quarter panel on my old sc. he had 5-6 plastic faced hammers of different sizes.
Big dent was just gone in 2 minutes. He asks if its ok to work on these other little dings. Sat in my driveway for 15 more minutes tapping and popping out the dings while chatting. One time a big one went ‘pop!’ And he looked up grinning and said ‘this is *really* nice metal’. Said modern cars with thin hardened faced steel were the worst. He was one of a kind, now runs a paint shop in another state but wow was he good. |

That is truly magic, looks great, what happened to put that crease in the first place?

A friend of mine does it and I think he's likely one of the best in the country. He has a very strong build, but would work out so he didn't get sore from removing dents. We used to golf a lot and with a straight and awkward swing he could hit the ball 320 yards with a 3 wood.

The tool that impressed me was the hot glue thing with the "plunger" and the tool that gripped it and then pulled. It was like the old method of welding on a stud to pull, except there wasn't thousands of dollars in paintwork to follow.
I had an old dent on the rear wheelarch at 12 oclock that I had left there for close to 20 years b/c I figured it was in a bad spot and more trouble than it was worth. Gone. He was there anyway b/c a weedwacker fell on the drivers fender and left a mark there and the hood, also gone. And the car has a 18 yr old repaint. Color me impressed.

Years ago, when this technique first came around, I watched a guy as he removed several pretty good-sized dings from a BMW door. It was quite impressive to watch those dents literally disappeared right before my eyes. In the right hands, those specialized tools can work wonders...

They are amazing technicians. They can do some miraculous things on dents that, 30 years ago, would have resulted in a lot of expensive paint and body work. I suspect that a really good eye is a big part of the skill set.
Had a Scirocco that had hail damage and was repaired conventionally. Seemed to find a missed dimple every time that I washed it. Bought a new Subaru Forester that had hail damage and was repaired by a PDR guy and never found a dimple in two years of ownership. Also had a couple of Road America hickory nut dents on the 911 done more recently with fantastic results. Amazing to watch these guys work.

I had an E30 M3 several years ago. Original paint nearly perfect car. But it had 3 very minor door dings. 2 of them were removed perfectly. The third was on a crease line in the door. Should have left it alone, but the PDR guy said he could do it. Wound up with 2 smaller dings and a very small crack in the paint
