ATH & it's cancellation
My mid-week afternoon routine, post nap was to watch Around the Horn and Pardon the Interruption on ESPN via DVR. Of the two I preferred ATH but would watch both even though there was some overlap. It aired for 23 years before ESPN pulled it last week, and I'm pretty bummed. They have replaced it with wager/gambling shows, or another edition of Sports Center. Who needs more of that?
I can't stand the shows like Stepan A-hole Smith, that x Colt punter and the like with all the yelling, WWE junk n such. ESPN said the show was no longer in their target audience looking for "more diverse" programming. From what I read the ratings were still high. I will miss the host, Tony Reali, panelist like Woody Page, Kevin Blackastone and the olden timey participants who after all these years seem like you know them. Rant over. |
I mean. I’m pretty sure a majority of Americans love to get high and bet on sporting events from their couch.

The season 4 “Against the Rules” Michael Lewis podcast covers a lot of sports gambling ground. I found it interesting FWTW.
