Sway bars for 986 S.
Well I bit the bullet and adjustable H&R coilovers for 986 S. I’ve never put coil overs in so I am paying the shop to install. I just want to lower an inch. Well now I’m thinking that since I’m going through all this, why not change the sway bars and drop links. Anyone have any suggestions? Car rides on 18’s if it matters.
It’s a road car that will see some AX. Not sure I need but I’m pretty practical and taking baby steps to change. The 986 forum an Rennlist are a bit slow so I thought I would throw the question out here. Thanks. |
Small world , many years ago I bought a set of lightly used H&R coilovers for my 986S but haven't installed . I am installing them sometime this month . Along with suspension refresh of various parts . Anyway I would keep the stock bars and see how you like the performance after the coilovers are installed .
Also do some AX's and see how she does . Talk to other Boxster owners to see what sway bar changes they have done . Even ask to ride along as one man's perfect setup may not be to your liking . |
GT3 sized aftermarket bars seem to be the hot ticket on 996/986. never driven mine without, but the adjustability is nice.

Thank you both,

Out of curiosity, what's the spring rate on the coilovers vs stock?
