Fuel door won’t close

Fuel door won’t close, no blockage and the press-release button works when pressed by hand. Any fixes or ideas? Thanks

SPAMMER (or someone new to the Internet), three identical posts. One post here, another post to the BMW Xx board, and another post to another BMW board.

But my suggestion on the fix is a large hammer and then...

That's a lot better than if it won't open.
Congrats!

My fuel door sometimes stays open. But that's mostly when I'm in a deep sleep or so I've been told.

Hey! Maybe the fuel door on this unnamed car of unknown year that they own has a problem with a fuel door not staying shut. ! How can we know for sure? I mean, the thing on that thing I own doesn't work the way I think it should! Does that make me a spambot?

take off the gas cap and use a match to see what is causing the obstruction on the hinge, or for better illumination, a road flare.
