TJ on the real truth about men

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv3X1uoRulk

the only thing i would add ... is that most men are not genetically not selected for a mate ... they are choosing to not be selected for a mate. the "top 10%" of men are not the top 10% men think they are. the top 10% of men are emotionally competent, empathetic, have a personality, good sense of humor etc etc. those are the men being selected. not these failures complaining about feminism.

I clicked just to see who TJ was….never heard of him. Don’t know if that’s good or bad…

GH85Carrera 06-19-2025 11:44 AM

Almost all the men I know are married. A couple of men were married but are now widows.

My brother has been married for 49 years.

Just a few of my men friends are divorced.

I would say your post is pure poppycock.

 tell that to all the men complaining that feminism and online dating and social media ruined the world. the whole thing is in response to men redpilling themselves. feel free to deny the redpill to their faces, see how that goes.

You’re referencing a sample that is 2-3 generations removed from the group that will be responsible for birthing the next generation.

Feminism has changed the relationship dynamics and when a partnership works well, it’s changed it for the better. But while communication has always been paramount to a successful relationship, it’s even more important now because the norms have changed and assumptions based on a few rom-coms aren’t enough.

I can only hope that women truly reach equality with men. In my circle, they have, but there are still too many males who don't understand what real strength is and too many women who have yet to realize their own. I am guessing the article posted is concerning the same people who have yet to leave the nest.
I read a great quote the other day, "When you are accustomed to privilege , equality feels like oppression. "

masraum 06-19-2025 03:56 PM

I think the woke crowd that most folks picture, militant folks with no tolerance that want the entire world to bend to their will, are not the majority, are not an entire generation. They are a vocal minority, the squeaky wheel, the whiny beyotches that are vocal online. I think MOST folks of those generation are much more middle of the road with their thoughts and values.

oldE 06-20-2025 04:07 AM

Steve, you are undoubtedly correct and at the same time, "woke " becomes a boogeyman phrase for almost anything that folks on the other end of the spectrum either don't understand or which scares them.

I want that guy's shirt.

More truth in that vid than I was hoping to watch.

LEAKYSEALS951 06-20-2025 07:05 AM

I thought this was going to be about Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemings

Dixie 06-20-2025 07:23 AM

Two things stood out about that video. One is that the presenter is painful to watch. The other is that, once again, women's involvement is completely left out. It's assumed that getting a woman is no different than picking out a beer. That's hardly the case. It's the woman that decides, not the guy.

I enjoyed this. Nostalgia is a double edged sword. So many institutions are designed to thwart or even reverse progress. The band plays on.

wdfifteen 06-20-2025 08:17 AM

I couldn't listen to it past the list of "Why are men ...." I'm sure I missed something.
I'm frankly sick and tired of hearing about the "problem" with men, or for men, or whatever the hell it is.
I didn't get married until I was 43 years old. It was too soon for me. I figured it out when I was in my 60s and married the most wonderful person in the world. Don't tell me about my problems, or what's wrong with me, or whatever. I'm fine.

Cajundaddy 06-20-2025 08:17 AM

Whatever.
All 3 of my thirtysomething daughters are happily married, all to good guys, all have kids. Only one used online dating to find a mate and afterward described the process as exhausting and she got “lucky”. My impression is that meeting someone in person, in local social circles, is still a highly effective mating strategy. Get off the gaming sites and go talk to someone.

Absolutely. It's a dog whistle, nothing more.

Shaun @ Tru6 06-20-2025 08:32 AM

This guy is a complete moron, I can't believe I listened to the entire thing.

It would have been much better if Trader Joe's had created a treatise on today's men.

LOL! How did you manage to listen to the whole thing. I didn't get through 5 secs. It's too hard to take this

LOL! Yes, Trader Joes would have been much better.

IMHO, it's a two-way street, ma'am. I've turned down more women than I've ever asked out. In my circle of friends, most of the guys are decent people and we've all got wives or long-term girlfriends who we view as complete equals--because they are. I teach my kids (both sexes) that relationships are partnerships first and foremost. Be open, be honest with each other, and you both gotta bring something to the table that is of value to the other person and to the relationship.

Disclaimer, I'm on wife #2. I was young and dumb in picking the first one. Second wife will be the last one.

You are absolutely correct. Negating that wasn't my point. It's that, even in a video where a guy complains about guys, the premise is that everything is decided only by men.

Typically, a man offers his interest and a woman decides to accept or not.
