Newest pilot in the forums

Thursday morning my youngest son Matt passed his P-1 checkride in a UH72 Lakota. He soloed Friday morning and I got a copy of a video from his first solo landing. He is on the forums from time to time and he caught the Porsche bug bad from me as a child.

He also got bit by the RC aircraft bug as a child... I am a horrible influence, forcing him to help me with project cars. He has a youtube channel

Thanks, Sandy, so cool.

Makes sure he remembers, "push the stick forward, houses get bigger, pull the stick back..."

Pull the stick back hard enough and they get bigger again.

Bloody knuckles under the collective...

Well done! Congratulations!

No pilot here. However, looking at the video tells me it would be difficult to tell when the landing was complete. Very smooth..

Already about to start my P2 check ride and already have started the deep dive into instrument training!

Thanks for all the nice words! I’m a long time lurker here but hardly post.

Instrument training is when you really learn to be a pilot.

CAVU is easy.

Your Father asked me if I remember my first solo. I told him all I have to do is close my eyes.

Your journey to Army Wings is to be admired.

Fly well, young man.
