Only at Porsche Parade!!!!
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1752013486.jpg
That is me in the orange volunteer shirt watching it happen. Pelican Parts sponsored the volunteer shirts. Thank you Pelican Parts! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1752013486.jpg You can see his signature on the lid. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1752013486.jpg Only at Porsche Parade can you get Hans Peter Porsche to autograph your deck lid! :D:D Today, I was the lead car on a tour of Ft. Reno, and the General Stafford museum. The Porsche family rode in their Cayenne with manufacturer plates right behind me. Mr Porsche was gracious enough to autograph my trunk lid. He just climbed in, and signed it. I thanked him profusely, and then showed him my engine compartment. I explained I have owned it for 30 year, and it now has 200,000 miles on it. I also have a photo him and my wife and I with my arm around Hans Peter. |
That is super cool, Glen!
Entirely deserved for a true enthusiast like yourself. |
I have a slide around here soewhere....taken of Hans Peter & his wife Kuni... He's aged a bit since the 1971 Parade...;)
|
Outstanding!
|
Looks like you may be 15 years too late to get Chuck Jordan to autograph your Elky…
Still pretty cool. |
That’s cool. At first I thought some old guy had a few drinks and was chilling in your frunk smoking a cig

First time in my pelican career I rated a thread. Took me a while to figure out how to do it but left 5 stars

I'll admit that when I saw the first picture I thought that there's a judge looking for dirt in an awfully hard place to look for it.
Then I read the rest of the post. Very cool, Glen. Congrats. Now, how are you going to preserve that autograph? |
Wow, that is awesome. I’m quite jealous.

Hans Peter Porsche: What’s with these crazy Americans wanting my name on their trunk lids!

I am going to make a print with those images combined, and have it mounted and laminated, and keep it in the car to play show and tell for those skeptical people. The next stop was a Rt 66 themed diner named Lucille's Roadhouse, in Weatherford, OK. He ordered a totally Oklahoma style menu choice of Chicken Fried steak, mashed potatoes, and fried Okra. I had the same meal, (at a different table) and he finished more of his than I did of mine. |
Cool story!

That's cool. Wish I could have been there.

A friend from San Diego area got the people's choice award for his Aubergiene colored 4.4L 911T

When the Porsche Parade was last in San Diego I talked with Hans-Peter about his love of collecting Teddy Bears. So I gave him one of my parachuting bears that jump from a very large kite. The bears were made by Andy Galinis' wife and are all different with jump log books just like real sky divers.
Couple months later I got a package from Germany and inside is a one of a kind teddy bear and they are made once a year, so they are very rare! John Rogers |
Glen, If I were you I'd seriously consider buying another hood and getting it painted to match the car and put it on. Take the original and hang it up in the garage. One idiot crashing into you would ruin it.

Wow. Beyond cool!
|
I met Hans at another PCA event and he was very gracious. Really took the time to talk to people.
