Pretty much my thoughts exactly. I don't understand why there's such movement over an announced "deal". I don't believe what's being discussed changes the direction we're moving in.

A purely emotional response to "possible" agreements with China and a firming of the dollar against other currencies. Gold is still up 45%ish YTD so if I had been holding long term this dip is a non-issue. If someone blew their whole wad on gold 3 weeks ago and went heavy on margin... They are probably wetting the bed on this downturn. Two very different outcomes.

I just bought ORA today. They are in the right space and doing the right things and their stock price reflects it.

Hoping most of you are holding one or more: AAPL, AMZN, LLY, NVDA, GE, GEV, GM, GOOGL, VRT, HOOD, TSM, SOFI, MCK and with the 10 for 1 split announcement NFLX.

I have 10 of 14

I’ve had AAPL for nearly 20 years… it’s been good.

Been working on Japanese stocks recently. Iron Geisha Takaichi wants to build up Japan’s “Self Defense Forces”, build up the domestic defense industry, export weapons throughout Asia, etc. Japan has spent only about 1% of GDP on defense, it is already boosting spend to 2%, her cabinet is talking about 3% or more.

Priorities are long range missiles (cruise, antiship, hypersonic), missile defense, fighter aircraft (Japan uses domestically built F15 and F2, but is buying F35s and developing a 6th gen fighter with the UK and Italy), naval (surface, sub), detection-command-control, cyber. Japan can make quite a lot of that domestically, the government is trying to get the defense industry to expand and invest, and has raised the target profit margin on defense contracts.

I’ve made good money on European defense names, hoping there’s still opportunities in Japan. It’s not that easy to research Asian stocks, but it is interesting.

Yep, volatility is just part of the BTC game. Either you day-trade it on the rapid ups and downs or buy and hold long term. Both can be profitable as long as you can buy low, sell high, and never panic sell on a slide.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again….BTC is inherently worthless, is practically useless as a medium of exchange, and is a horrible “asset” and store of value. I still believe, despite all of the hype, it will go the way of overpriced tulips….institutions are starting to bail which could be the death knell. Retail was always going to get screwed, it’s just the way it works.

Michael Saylor @MSTR was driving up bitcoin by selling stock to buy bitcoin, now it's gone in reverse.

All I know is, I wish I had done what a friend suggested years ago and got a bunch. I'd be crazy rich. :D

I think MSTR is going to implode, only a matter of time….and I agree, his buying was likely a big part of driving the market. If you need to spend half your time hyping the market online as he does, you might want to reevaluate the market. Real value does not need constant hype.

BTC is high risk with the potential for high returns. A lot of people made a ton of money buying BTC 10 years ago. Some big players also saw their wallet go to zero with a few keystrokes overnight during the Sam Bankman-Fried fraud and embezzlement shenanigans. If you can afford to risk it all, this can be a viable path. Too sketchy for my investing style.
