Phones and car's stereo
Hi guys,
My Sony head unit has an USB port. I plug my iphone 11 there and listen to youtube music great. Trying the same with my Samsung S20 FE, it's quiet. Does anyone successfully do that with your Samsung? If so, can you give me a hint? Thanks.

Is the Samsung charging when it is plugged into the USB? Maybe a USB port issue?

Try a different cable. Try flipping the cable over. With both the older lightning and the USB-C, sometimes cables get a little wonky and will work OK with some devices but not others. So if you're having an issue with one phone, I'd first look at the simplest and cheapest piece of the puzzle, the cable.

I tried it again today and paid closer attention. The cable is fine, it does charge. When I plugged it in, the battery started to charge, the radio started to display a song and play it, but the song is not the youtube song I am playing on my phone. So basically, the 2 music sources are playing at the same time (the radio and the samsung phone). I tried to look everywhere on the phone to see what is it that is playing but can't find anything. I seem like the song is embedded in somewhere. When I unplugged, the radio stop playing and the display show "no music source".
Anyone know anything about this?

Set up your bluetooth connection and never look back. It should not take more effort than writing 2 posts here.

I use the Bluetooth feature on my F150 stereo to play songs on my iPhone. It takes a of couple steps. I can control it from my steering wheel, when it starts playing.
What I would like, is to be able to have my truck mimic or display Apple Play (I think it’s called). My 2014. F150 doesn’t have that feature, and I tried a USB dongle, but it still didn’t work. |

What happens when you plug in an USB with music loaded on it?
I don't think what you are trying to do will work.

I usually don't bother with it, but when I am playing music from my phone in the Jetta, the volume is a lot lower than from the USB which has most of my music. The only real problem is when I switch back!

Sometimes the latest software update on your phone helps.

Does the Sony HU have android auto? My thought is that android auto is playing something from a playlist on Pandora or whatever music app.
More to my point; "Android Auto can sometimes play music from Pandora even when you're actively using another music app, like YouTube, on your phone. This is often due to Pandora's settings or Android Auto's behavior of prioritizing apps that request audio focus. To resolve this, you can either disable "Launch from Car" in the Pandora app, turn off automatic music start in Android Auto settings, or restrict Pandora's background activity"

The blue tooth is working when I set my Sony radio to BT Audio, but I don't like it . I like the USB better. Don't know why. It's just me.
When I turn bluetooth off and tried to use USB, I leave the radio at "USB", the radio keep playing some preset music from the Samsung phone over and over. I have no idea what it is. I don't see "Launch from Car". I'll try to turn off the auto start and let see. Thanks.
