Not summer: humidistat off / 68*F thermostat.

Welp. I’m reading that with minisplits it is best to set one temperature and stick to it 24H. Is that right? I prefer it cooler at night.

We keep the AC at 75 in the warm (hot) months and around 68 in colder months when the gas furnaces are pumping. I am not sure I would want to pay for 66-68 in summer!

I am actually shocked at the high summer numbers I'm seeing here. I've never seen high settings like that unless going to old people/grandparents houses. I'm thinking now it's age driven.. The older you get, the warmer the setting.. You all must be old.. Ha Ha..
That being said, my parents house in Buffalo area doesn't even have AC..!

and for pricing, I have a 6,100 sq ft house with three units for the three floors and in the heat of the summer with the upstairs, middle and basement units set to 68, 70, 72, a typical electric bill is @$450.00

77-78F, plenty low to make a huge difference between the Florida hug and living temps.

Humidity is a big issue as well, so if the humidity is low, I can tolerate a higher temperature.

In the desert I keep summer at 78 f. or off until I can't stand it. It's not the heat inside but how stuffy it gets, plus allergens are rampant in the desert air (at least for me) so I need it filtered.

This is the first year we haven't had 60+ days of heat over 100 degrees in the last 5 years. We did reach 100 in early May this year but have had lots of clouds and rain this year.

We can get by on 72 usually and 70 at night during 'summer' which is April thru November.

'Winter' is just a concept here. It usually lasts a week or so. We may use heat around 68 to 70.

It would probably be better for each heat/cool but our 1970's windows suck.

If I set mine any lower than 75 in the summer....I am looking for a sweatshirt or jacket.

I'd rather not 'layer up' in the summer.

69 in the summer, 66 in the winter. AC doesn't cost much for us (geothermal heat pump).

Summer: 79 during the day upstairs and downstairs but I’m gone all day. 72 upstairs at night. I also use a window air conditioner set at 61 and fan in my bedroom to get it really cold. When I leave the house, I turn everything off and raise the thermostat back to 79.

Winter: heat at 64 unless Ms Rocket turns it up. 🥵

59-62 in winter. Summer is whatever only run the ac in the evening when its unbearable upstairs. Just one window unit cools it enough. We are past a/c season now that it gets cool at night.

South Central Florida. With the AC at 78-80, it feels like a meat locker inside since outdoors is low-90s and humid every day May thru mid-September. End of Sept thru end of April it's pretty much just windows open! There's maybe 10-15 days in there where we need to run the heater at night and early morning. Very, very low annual utility costs.

I want nothing to do with our power company (SDG&E). This past year I paid zero for our all electric house and car. Solar panels and energy management - my way of fighting back. The only outside energy source is wood for the fireplace, which I've paid zero for sofar by searching around, cutting, & splitting it. I think i use quite a bit less than half a cord during a winter and have more than a winter's supply left.

Humidity is the thing...

75 degrees and 50% humidity is very comfortable inside here during the summer months... I just use a dehumidifier in one basement to make it totally comfortable for me... my mileage varies and I am comfortably CHEAP :D.

^^^ Same here. Have a 30 pint in the basement that is full every day...If I don't empty it, you can feel the difference upstairs when the A/C is running.

I keep one in the garage also...in the spring thaw it's full every day.
