Okay, Who turned down the thermostat??

Been fall like cool out the last several days. Yesterday hit a high in the low 70's. Ten or so days ago I was out in the sun laying down sitting wall and columns around my patio and had to take pool breaks. This morning it's 47 out there!!

Prolly Al Gore ... couldn't take the heat any more ;).

Unbelievably hot & wet July... only 1 day above 90 in Aug...
this is unbelievable weather for late Aug....

Melikey :)

Hold the line!

44 here for the second morning in a row....supposed to reach 74 this afternoon.

Drought conditions also....my lawn is toast....shady portions are green.

Mid 70s in KS and we’ve had lots of rain, nice drought buster summer.

masraum 08-27-2025 03:10 AM

Our summer has been very mild, but the high yesterday was still in the 90s so I don't feel like the leaves are ready to turn just yet. I'm ready for lows in the mid 60s instead of mid 70s.

We've had a few timely rains so my lawn isn't completely torched from the late July to mid August heat. I've only had to add water to my pool once this summer and that was this week. It was about 1.5" lower than I typically keep it.

2025? Easily the BEST weather year in my life. Winter had a month of sun (January?) as did Spring. Which, is not typical in the gray S.A.D. affected Pacific NW. This summer? I think it his 100 1-3 days max. And so far? We have not had nasty wildfire smoke.

It has been fantastic.

We are having Seattle's weather. We tied a 45 year old record for the coolest high temperature yesterday. It is 67 degrees and never got out of the 60s yesterday, in August in Oklahoma! We have had 4 inches of rain this month. Nearly 3 inches in the last 48 hours.

One city in western Oklahoma broke a 117 year old record for cold yesterday.

I gave up on the Weather Channel years ago and try and watch AccuWeather...they have been running old hurricane porn non-stop...barely a mention of the best August I have ever spent in Maryland.

Crowbob 08-27-2025 04:46 AM

We’ve had an excellent summer here. Lots of rain. Tremendous growth.

Definitely not looking forward to this winter.

In actual fact, I’m already sick of NEXT winter.

I live here because I’m stoopid.

stevej37 08-27-2025 12:21 PM

Some rain forecast for here tomorrow. After that...no more for the next week.

gacook 08-27-2025 01:31 PM

I love Arizona. I never even think about the weather.

We've had a decent monsoon season; good amount of rain but more would have been nice, too. Highs in the 80s this week for the most part.

varmint 08-27-2025 01:59 PM

leaves are falling, fireweed is high.

very mild last winter. bad feeling about what's coming. sudden urge to get on chores and home repair.

Evans, Marv 08-27-2025 02:28 PM

We've had a good run here summer wise. So far we['ve turned on the AC about three times for a while during late afternoon. Other than that, we haven't used thr HVAC. Haven't had any days above 100 that I remember. It's been a fairly mild summer.

^^^^ Ain't that the truth??

onewhippedpuppy 08-27-2025 08:56 PM

KS had something like the 26th July EVER in which no city in the state hit 100 degrees. We had a few toasty weeks in August (it is summer after all) and are now looking pretty good. Of course with our luck it will randomly hit 100 in October and kill any grass I plant.

I went jogging in Anchorage on the coastal trail and the fireweed (spores?) stuck to my sweating exposed skin and put me down for several hours. My eyeballs had bumps on them from reacting to it. Skin was on fire but it did finally subside. Dang, I say!

GH85Carrera 08-28-2025 04:48 AM

Another 68 degree morning here. Rain expected later today.
