2025 Hospital Rankings
Here is the list for your state.
Quality of care is an important factor in your personal health care planning and peace of mind. If you live in multiple states or cross the border a lot its a planning aid for those scenarios also. My family has instructions for each location to avoid chaos and to have a plan in place with a place to go to. https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/rankings-and-ratings/290-hospitals-with-5-stars-from-cms/

Looking at the CA list I disagree with the lack of some notable hospitals and the inclusion of others. 2/3rds I have no experience.
What's funny is that USC Keck is probably the home of some of the best surgeons in the state but the hospital sucks. So not on the list. Cedars Sanai is not on my list AFAIC. Been in there 2wice. Hope to never go back. I can't see why a couple of Kaisers are mentioned but not others. Is is what it is. Yelp agrees. Yes to Hoag in Newport all the way. |

I find it interesting that the list for Oregon only lists the VA and a hospital in Grants Pass...

Find the US well down the list. We have the "toys" but not the outcomes or this one. The US isn't even close to the best https://www.commonwealthfund.org/publications/fund-reports/2024/sep/mirror-mirror-2024

I'm sorry, but I have worked in every ICU in South Carolina, and not one of those hospitals would I go to.
Interesting to note: None of these are South Carolina's trauma hospitals. A couple of these do not have a true ICU. It's easy to keep mortality rates down if you don't treat any traumas or hard cases.

Gotta agree with Milt regarding NC also... some heavyweights omitted and the center of this state sorta has a bunch of fine ones imo, and my former college town "down east" made the list too .... woo hoo
![]() But I try to avoid them all ![]() |

I’ll have to ask her what she thinks about the list and the hospitals in South Carolina, but she’s in Maine finishing the Appalachian Trail. |

I wonder if they copy the same survey as the academic institutions…
