another scam buying motorcycles, who to report to?

i am currently being contacted by a scammer regarding a motorcycle i have for sale on a motorcycle bulletin board. its the deal where they send you a check ofr too much, then you sent the remainder to them, but the problem is that their check is no good, but you fing out too late. who do i report this too? their email is a yahoo address.

I would start with the website where your bike is listed (ask the moderators on the bike bulletin board). Most places have disclaimers about such things, but they may be able to help you out.

The fact that you haven't done the deal with the scammer is a good start.

Report the address to the FBI. They can probably get Yahoo to trace access to that account to an IP address, at least.

Look in the source only view of the email somewhere in there a field will be something like x: origiating ip: and the following address is the orignal ip address, then have a talk w/ the fbi

That stuff is easily spoofed. The FBI would have to get Yahoo to help them track it down. Unless, of course, the crook really is stupid.

now they say they are out of the country, in west africa, gave me a cell number there to call, dont want to arrange shipping till after the payment is made.
