Did DAwn changed their formula to some enviomental friendly BS?

Its no longer cutting grease like it used to. A bad batch? It also seems to be needing more soap to jsut wash a simple pan or dish. No suds, or the soapy feeling has dwindled. You guys experience this?

Discovered this from just working on wife's van. Time to get some more Simple Orange or similar cleaner.

They changed it a year ago. It’s supposed to trap grease without redistributing it or something. I didn’t notice a difference.

Thank you, I thought it was me.
It has definitely changed. Same observations. Need to use more, not as much suds. Just not as effective. I had a couple old bottles, on the boat and in the garage. Compared them with the new. Pretty clear difference.

I mean it still works, but it's not the same old Dawn.

I know it is a bit pricey but P21s total auto wash diluted 1:10 is a pretty effective household degreaser. Full strength is amazing degreaser.

Dawn Power Spray is all I use. That and Boraxo together will clean the dirtiest hands you can have.

Yeah, that Dawn Powerwash is great stuff. I have a 36 in freestanding vent hood in stainless and its the only thing that really makes it look good. It gets a grease film all over it if you fry anything.

Yes, they’ve come up with several different formulas. Probably to fill more shelf space.

That's good to know. I thought we got a bad batch. We buy them in the gallon jugs. Fill the soap dispensers in the house and one small squeeze bottle in the garage. I found it much less powerful.

Just went to look under the kitchen cabinet. Its the Dawn Professional not the Platinum. Will try the small squeezeable Platinum bottle later today. Will report back.

I learned from a house cleaner that Pledge is what they use on SS. And it makes it easier to clean the next time. I have Pledge just for that. Otherwise it is banned from the house. Just thinking, I'll have to try it on my machines.

Edit:
I just used some Pledge on the painted surfaces of my used but new to me mill. It won't need painting so I'm not worried about the silicone. It cleaned the oil off well. It wasn't that bad though. If I do decide to paint it I will scrub it with Dawn or Purple Power

SeriousEats looked at dish detergents this spring.

Many consider them very neutral and nearly never talking out of their rears.

Palmolive beat Dawn for surfactant power and has a slightly lower pH so it's probably better on skin.

We buy whichever of the two is on sale and top off our contertop pump. I don't perceive any difference but for color and cost.

Most name brand will be good enough for dishes. We also use them for hand washing. Most pump or hand washing liquid we found are pretty bad. Doesn't clean very well. One rinse, no more soap or suds. While most dish soap will stay on hand for a little more time from just rinsing or even rubbing. That makes me feel cleaner and I sm sure it made no real difference. In terms of Dawn, I like the grease break down from working on a car or an oil change. It use to be pretty good and I can get away with most jobs without having to go to a automotive hand cleaner. Will try Palmolive. I remember most didn't break down car grease as well as Dawn from back in the old days or simply 5-15 years ago. Maybe they all changed to catch up with Dawn from those commercials of spilled oil onto sea birds. Since then, my friend would wash his dog with it.
