One Battle After Another

Getting high ratings from viewers....I disagree.
I will give it a 2.5 out of five.
Best part of the movie.....Glen's El Camino is seen.:)

Steve Carlton 09-26-2025 05:48 PM

Looks like it started streaming today on HBO Max.

stevej37 09-26-2025 06:32 PM

It's a long movie.....2hrs 41minutes
Leonardo is good as always.

It is another cinematic masterpiece from PTA. Just amazing and the humor, (even though there isn’t a lot of it), is sublime. 10/10 in my book.

must of yanked it, I am not seeing it.

speeder 09-29-2025 08:26 AM

I'm pretty sure that it's in theaters only. Either way, that's the only way to see it. It's on Max and 70mm here as well as standard format.

What is it about?

Agree. I must have read a bad headline or misread it. Looks like it'll stream Nov-Dec, but it'll probably have a rental fee.

It looks like I will wait for it to be free on Amazon or HBO, and 50/50 odds I will even watch it.

Shaun @ Tru6 10-07-2025 04:03 AM

saw it last night.

Acting: 10 (really 11, maybe 12)
Music & sound: 10
Story arc scale, pace, intensity: 10
Poignancy: 10
Story: 8, 9 and 10

There are a ton of people in this country who won't get it and just as many who will, and rebel against it when they do. Others will see it as a story for our times.

Bring out eddie van halen.

It's about 2 hours and 41 minutes..

Sounds like I should wait for it to stream so I can watch it over several sittings.

Totally hear you on this but it didn't seem long in the theater, which is a testament to its quality. When a movie or show seems long while you're watching it, that's a bad sign. :)

They filmed a fair amount of it in Sacramento.

I think they might have trouble selling something made by someone who hates the people they are trying to sell it to.

It is bombing because the average American fails to "get it."

Right.

Yea reading the reviews and watching the trailer I'm not inclined to watch this movie in a theatre. I am a big fan of new, ground breaking films, not reruns or remakes, which IMO HW is sinking money into. I will watch this film on pay per view but will not be surprised if I don't watch it entirely. This medium continues to become more biased following the trends of society. Hoping HW can start a trend that appeals to the middle ground.

I thought it looked interesting, but if it’s a 2:41 lecture I’ll sit this one out.

From Google...

"Bob is a washed-up revolutionary who lives in a state of stoned paranoia, surviving off-grid with his spirited and self-reliant daughter, Willa. When his evil nemesis resurfaces and Willa goes missing, the former radical scrambles to find her as both father and daughter battle the consequences of their pasts."

Also... Sean Penn. I just watched "aka Charlie Sheen".

It's good to see him working again but he really needs to quit smoking.

For himself, not for me. He's 65... Enough already.

If he doesn't quit he'll end up with emphasemia. It may already be too late.

speeder 10-07-2025 10:58 PM

He's been smoking for 50 years, he's good at it.

anti-globalism is the new anti-imperialism so I think you'd like it. But at it's heart, it's just a story about a father and daughter woven into a very complex tapestry which makes the film brilliant.

It is disappointing that you guys are so easily triggered and shut things out so quickly. Put down the spoon.
