Question for the Honda experts

I asked this on the Honda Civic site and no one could give me a good answer.

My 2022 Civic SI does not have 'walk away locking' and this is what happens....

I'm in the habit of locking my 22 SI by pushing the lock button on the interior door. It's easier than getting the fob out of my pants pocket.
It always works....unless I have my bike on the Swagman Carrier. Then when I push the button and shut the door....the loud chime sounds until I use the fob to lock it.

Why would it do that? Is the bike interfering with the reverse camera?
Not that big of a deal...just wondering why.

.

Don't know the answer to your question, but doesn't the car have a button or something on the exterior door handle that will lock the car?

No...just lockable by using the fob or the rocker switch on the arm rest door panel.
I can unlock the car using the key in the fob for the exterior door handle.

The second that I shut the door....the chime starts in.
If I try it again...same thing.
It will only lock by using the button on the fob.

Thanks for finding that.
Yes...I use all of that, except the walk-away locking. If I have that, it must have to be set because it doesn't do it.

When the bike is on the rack and I'm wanting to lock the car, I push the lock button and exit. As soon as the door shuts, a loud chime sounds until I open the door. The only way the chime won't sound is if I use the fob to lock it. (which is no problem)

This never happens when the bike is not on the carrier....this is the part I don't understand. So it has to be something connected with the sightlines of the rear camera.

I'm headed near to my dealer tomorrow....I may swing in to ask about it.

It's not something that inconveniences me.....I just want to know why it's happening.

I used my key fob to lock the door to the truck. I see the lights flash, and holding the key fob by the sides, I bring it in and put it down on the counter. This way, I don’t inadvertently unlock it. I know, I’m OCD.🤪
