What Qunol products are you taking - and are they helping?

Health-related threads are always of interest to me and I hope others here.

Tony Hawk is their spokesman. Hard to ignore that, for me. What does the Bird Trust say?

Here are some of them, and there are others:
CoQ10
Tumeric
Magnesium
Omega 3 w/fish oil

I bought some and found out it upset my stomach, so I quit. So not to waste the bottle, my wife decided to finish it off. She was experiencing joint pain in some of the joints on her hands and was getting cortizone shots. They told her they could only give her three shots in a location. After taking the turmeric for some time and not getting any shots, she realized the pain in her joints had disappeared. She still takes the turmeric, and has for more than a year, and hasn't had to go to a doctor. I'm very suspect about the effects of supplements, but so far this has seemed to be an answer to her problem.

Doc is right IMHO as layman and somewhat researcher.
(the following is not professional medical advice)

I suspect Cortizone softens up cartilage so that it can re-form and harden around the natural normal movement of a joint. The problem is that there is some loss of the cushion involved in the process. Too much and all the cartilage and synovial fluid is gone. Then it becomes bone-on-bone rubbing. Followed by expensive/painful joint replacement if applicable. Or becoming disabled for life for too many with compounding result.

I once got a shot in the shoulder(dislocated for hours in my youth until reset early am by a kindly old pissed off maybe-drunk doc rudely awoken to drive for many miles and fix some punk kid out in the stix)
-That worked for a year or so, until the clicking returned, and thankfully normalized for a few decades longer.
-Hydration and Magnesium helps.

Nowadays I occasionally take VitC, Zinc, and Magnesium-Citrate. There are different kinds. Some work different than others. IDK. The Citrate is supposed to absorb easier.

Good nutrition and not eating sugar/starch will go a long way. I still intake that in beer and feel the effect after. Avoid excess protein in your elder years because the body does not need as much. Avoid strawberries and (edit: lettuce grown outdoors) or anything grown with typical high levels of chemicals. Food and healthy physical habits is your #1 medicine.

I take magnesium and B-12 everyday because my blood tests showed my magnesium was low. The B-12 is just a way to help keep away from anemia.

Why is it hard to get past Tony Hawk as a spokesman? He's been skating at a high level for decades and I bet he knows his body and what it needs as well as Edwin Moses when he was winning Olympic medals.

My friend swears by turmeric powder; she puts it on her yogurt every morning;

Thanks, Herr-O.

Sorry - poor choice of words, I guess.

I meant it was hard not to appreciate his testimonies.

I've edited my post to reflect this.

Thanks for all the feedback so far - really appreciate it! SmileWavy

No Qunol, but I've been taking Costco glucosomine+condroiten for knee joint pain for over 10 years. Made a big difference, no more pain. My knees used to actually make noise when climbing stairs.... that is gone.

Tony Hawk was considered 'aloof' from the regular street punk skate crowd, according to my degenerate former friends, but his skills and career are indisputable.

My sister gave me some magnesium lotion/cream and it helps my hip. It could all be in my head, but that doesn't matter to me.
