Has anyone tried iOS 26 yet?
I have a iPhone 16 Pro running iOS 18.7.1
I see the option to jump from 18.7.1 all the way to iOS 26. I have no idea what happened to 19 through 25. I am leery to jump that far into the updates. They seem to change the photos storage and how I find them on every major version update. |
Apple changed the way updates are numbered. This is in fact #19.. I haven't done it yet either. Too many big changes. I'm going to wait a few months.

Too many big changes, and they're already making changes to the big changes.
Liquid glass icons are causing problems with readability. |

And yes, if this is a huge update, with me running my 11 Pro that was a hand me down from one of the kids, I'll wait a bit. |
I’m at 18.6.2 on my 16 Pro Max and it seems like every time I update my phone, there’s problems or new configurations.
I did see 18.7.1 was available for updating plus the optional 26. |
My son has it on his 14. He was showing me the other day. The car play is updated and better.
I have not made the leap yet. |
Has anyone tried iOS 26 yet?
I updated to iOS 26 this week (iOS 26.0.1) and I am pretty happy with it. I have not explored all of the features yet, but I am liking the liquid glass look and effects. I have an iPhone 14 Pro, which doesn't support Apple Intelligence. IOS 26 adds some new features that need to have Apple Intelligence capabilities to make them work.
For those of you on the fence about updating to it, don't be afraid to update. It is stable and won't screw up your iPhone. I encourage you to go to a store that sells iPhone (Apple Store, Best Buy, Costco) and spend time to check out iOS 26 on their demo models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I updated when I paired my new Airpod Pro 3's. I don't have any issues with it. I have a 13 Pro Max so I don't get to use all the features. From a use standpoint, it seems to have fixed an issue with airpods in transparency mode. Now when I select it, it doesn't randomly turn off.

I do not like the update.
I could spend weeks non-stop learning the functions on my phone and the wildest I have gotten is plugging a wireless/Bluetooth USB dongel into my 2011 factory USB port in the glove box - and connecting (Honda). I am ignorant of 95% of the phone and after the update the little bit of muscle memory stuff I knew I have to re-learn. Edit: It will grow on me. Quote:
I would like the buy the next IPhone version up from what Nick Cabmandone has. (Funnier if you are so old you remember Bill Cosby's Ferrari skit with the plaque on the dash saying This car is faster than anything Steve McQueen owns) |
^^^ I have the newest airpods though!!
|
I bit the bullet and updated to 26. So far, it’s OK…need to relearn some muscle memory things.
