so a boy-cat came into my garage and hosed it down with pee

good times!! the smell made my eyes water!!

the little effer hosed down a couple of carpets I use to flip my kayak over. minimizes scratches if I can

I could see the scratch marks, and the dark spot. like a fool I bent down and took a whiff. holy!! mother nature got creative when she came up with the formula for catpiss.

there is no equal. I think I would rather have a skunk take a piss on my kayak carpet.

now I have to trap a cat. the cat was abandoned when a family packed up and moved. sold the house, left the cat for the neighborhood to deal with. the old people feed it. Hank (dog) has no issues with any cats and doesnt even chase them.

I'll check with animal control and see if I can get a trap.

I was on my knees scrubbing carpets this morning.. good times. oxi-clean and laundry detergent and elbow grease. those industrial doorway carpets are $$ now.

One of my friends had a rent house, and the tenants apparently had no sense of smell. Their cat had sprayed down the inside and outside of the house. He had to pretty much gut the house to get rid of the stench.

When I owned a rent house, the tenant had a male dog that hiked his leg on everything. Dog pee is not as bad as cat pee, but it meant a lot of expense to get the house livable again for sale. I will never be a landlord again. BTDT.

Our male dachshund had been sprayed by a skunk twice. He came running into the house, and it was overwhelming as we got him a bath. After a while, we got used to some of the stench, and it took a while for it all to dissipate.

I hear a bowl of antifreeze works well….:)

I used to work for a company where we frequently renovated mobile homes. There were multiple houses where we had to rip out all the flooring and paint the floors and lower few feet of walls with Kilz to kill the cat piss stench. Awful smell.

Some particularly evil cats will piss on your windshield. That piss enters the fresh air vent for the car!

Had an older male cat who started "spraying" which means pissing while the waggle their tail. I got so I was prepared to put him down at 12 y/o even though he had never done it before. Started keeping him outside pretty much exclusively and got some plug in deals like the glade air freshener things and that help some by releasing pheromones that was supposed to calm them..

At about the time this started I had begun dating a chick that hated cats with a passion and was "unfriendly" to him. If you know people loving cats at all if you push them away, they wonder WTF is wrong with you and try to get more friendly, at least the cats I've had. Well, she would yell, hiss and him and basically try to scare him off. He sensed this eventually and would leave when she came around. She had won per her estimation, and the pissing thing seemed to prove her right.

We dated for a few months and when we broke things off and she quit coming around the cat quit pissing in the house, in like a week. I have to assume he could not smell her on me in addition to her not visiting anymore. Just like that it stopped, he hated her as much as she him and since it was his house he was simply marking his territory. She ended up being a whack job and I suspect he sensed that from jump.

He lived another few years and never pissed in the house again. RIP Lyttles.

We had a guy come to work at my shop that owned a male cat. That cat must have peed on everything as the guy came in a he just reeked. The owner of the company sent him home a few times with instructions to take a shower, and put on clean clothes. We finally fired him after several instances of other employees complaining of his stink. I have to assume he had no sense of smell.

Cat urine is bad smelling...but have you ever been on a farm that has a billy goat??

They are the worst smelling animals ever.

Get an ozone generator. You can get them on Amazon for under $100. They work great.

One of my outdoor cats died from sudden kidney/other failure. At age 3.

His brother died at about ~14yr after enduring multiple nervous problems for many years. Probably hit by cars or mauled by animals a few times. For a few weeks I had to lift and hold him into the littler box. He was a lot of work.

I didn't like cats in general, but that little furry thing became my best buddy for life.
More loyal than the dog.
Walk around the block and sit like a dog on command.
He would leave the backyard critters alone after I told him to.
Walk past squirrels and birds.

Shoot a feral cat quick. Poison is a cruel way and affects carrion eating birds and other animals.
Or leave it alone until you know the situation.
Feral cats are a problem for wildlife. Most of them at least.
