Anybody have a Macan, Cayenne or Panamera with the 2.9 434hp v6

Hello

Any of you boyz have a Pcar with the 434hp 2.9l v6?

Do you have anything particularly negative to report?

I would post in the macan forum but . . you know

thanks

I think all of the turbo V6 models suffer from habitual seepage from the timing chain cover, and I’ve seen a few reports of bore scoring in earlier models.

The 2nd generation 2019 and later are reported to be more reliable and more repair-friendly. My wife has the base model 2.0T and so far it has been a pretty great car. The PCA did a thorough dive into the different Macan models on YT. Worth a look if shopping.

Yeah the small amount I've read seems to indicate that they addressed these two issues with the EA839 engine in 2019 and newer.

Thank you!

Not too mention not having to no longer remove the front clip for servicing as you do on the pre-facelift models.

Someone posted this in another Macan thread. I found it very helpful as we look to wrap up the purchase of a 2019+ shortly.

I owned a 2022 Cayenne S for a couple of years. Great engine, I have not driven in a Macan with it, but I would expect it to be quite quick. I had no issues at all and would choose that engine again.

10 hrs for a serpentine belt, $3k per rotor and not PCCB

Wife’s 2022 Panamera has the 330 hp 2.9 TT which I believe is a detuned, smaller turbo version. Reviews sounded better than the previous 3.0 V6. No problems so far and power is awesome with the PDK transmission.
