my own clay pot. rice and fish.
 

my wife's friend called and said she was in a store on Los Angelos that she got the clay pot she loaned me at. "do you want me to bring one back for you all?"

yes!! yes please.

this saves me shipping from LA, and from having to hand carry one from Japan.

I formulated a plan for the first dish. the maiden voyage.

I butterflied a few smaller rockfish and cooked them with the rice. (+ ginger and mushrooms). it worked.

I am a clay pot aficionado! I may still hand carry one from Japan. haha.

Very nice, and takes the pressure off when you're in Japan. You can, but you don't HAVE to.
