What I found out about the eye of the beholder.
I have an old 100k plus Base Carrera coupe and next to it in the garage is a 25 yr old 911 Turbo coupe in white.
We had a family get together and the garage was opened . Wasn't trying to brag. Anyway, everyone loved the Artic Silver Pinky Lai slab side silver inexpensive coupe. The more expensive Turbo just didn't get any love. That tells me that aesthetics are what make a beautiful car.

I prefer this
![]() to this by a wide margin. Don't get me wrong, the gorilla would be a hoot. But aesthetically, I like the 289 narrow body above. ![]() I also think the early, narrow M3s look better than the later models (M-versions excepted).

Big difference. In 1988, I looked at a slab side CSX for sale. Rough. 70K. I didn't have that kind of dough. Not even close. I opted to assemble a 427 bodied kit from one of the higher quality builders.
At the time, I think at least a dozen companies had kits. Anyway, after 20k enjoyable miles I sold it and picked up the Carrera. Still had a 930 in mind but not anymore.
