gregpark 10-17-2025 05:45 PM

Yikes I'm ancient, I got em all

A930Rocket 10-17-2025 06:03 PM

I wasn’t born yet, but I got 10 of 10.

rcooled 10-17-2025 06:13 PM

Way too easy...

Can any of you ol' farts name the artist on these other hits from 1958 without lookin' them up?

"Tequila"
"Get a Job"
"At the Hop"
"Sweet Little Sixteen"
"Great Balls of Fire"
"Peggy Sue"
"Splish Splash"
"Tears on my Pillow"
"Poor Little Fool"
"Yakety Yak"

Way before my time as well and I got 9-10. I never heard of the Jamaica song or so I thought. I googled it afterwards and had heard of course it but just didnt recognize the title. so I guessed wrong.

pwd72s 10-17-2025 07:26 PM

For R cooled

The Champs
The silhowetts (sp?)
Danny & The Juniors
Chuck Berry...and also listen to Beach Boys surfin' USA...same song, different lyrics
Jerry Lee Lewis
Richie Valens
Bobby Darin
little anthoney & the imperials
Rickey Nelson
The Coasters? (only one I'm not sure about)

No, I didn't look 'em up...during my high screwall years I was a top 40 radio junkie...and later in life I used to love entering radio trivia contests. So, how'd I do?

(edit) Just don't ask me about today's pop...I wouldn't recognize a Taylor Swift song..

cantdrv55 10-17-2025 07:31 PM

Dang it. Missed two.

pwd72s 10-17-2025 07:35 PM

Okay, here's Chuck's sweet little 16

Now Beach Boys surfin' USA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enlOHxQ0tb4

Gee...sound familiar? Chuck did sue...and won.

Danimal16 10-17-2025 08:18 PM

I got 10 out of 10, but I attribute familiarity with the songs due to the nostalgia early 70's created by movies like American Graffiti and similar TV shows.

A930Rocket 10-18-2025 02:16 AM

I’m familiar with every song, but I’m drawing a blank on who sang most of them.

I was 8 years old that year. Got them all right.

Bob Kontak 10-18-2025 04:41 AM

The band name was in the list of selections in OP's video. Name it based on these lyrics....

Oh, ratta tatta tatta
Tatta tatta too

Not quite as profound as Yesterday/Beatles lyrics but a catchy tune.

(I think Tequila is by Pee Wee Herman - I could be wrong)

astrochex 10-18-2025 04:50 AM

I am not quite that ancient.

Really good! Only missed one...'Peggy Sue' was Buddy Holly. A930Rocket got it...

gregpark 10-24-2025 07:31 AM

Yesterday the 23rd I turned 71. Went to lunch with some buddies and next to us were some 30 somethings. It was one of those guy's birthday as well. I said happy birthday, you me and Johnny Carson! Blank stare. My friends laughed like hell. Crap, happy birthday to me

javadog 10-24-2025 08:23 AM

Born 1959, got 9/10.
Would have been even easier to hear them played.
