Check out my new race video.

My friend is a video creator and has a great Car driven You Tube channel with videos of his many car adventures.
This is a video he created of my last race.
I think you'll agree he does very nice work.
We are already planning our Grand Prix of Long Beach video.
Please enjoy his latest video featured on his W4TheWin You Tube channel.

Great fun! Thank you

The in-car footage makes me realize my dopey little ITS-class 944 has been sitting under a cover in the corner of the hangar at the airport for way too long.
At this point, I'll prolly go back to race school to renew my competition license.

Thanks for posting.
...and I love the red Remove Before Flight "G-meter"

Why were you the only one scrubbing in your tires?

HobieMarty 10-26-2025 07:15 PM

Man that was super cool, thanks for the ride and speaking of rides, your Camaro looks super slick and sounds awesome!!!

Yeah get back to the track go have some fun were not getting any younger.
The G meter does look a bit like gear adrift, it might not be there next video.
I never noticed it when I was driving. ;)

So it appears.
We had 2 warm up laps the video shows just one lap so everyone had more than enough time to heat up the slicks.
I weave right out of the pits to clean the surface of the slicks.
Best way to get the slicks hot is to do it with brake heat.
So lots of riding the brake with the left foot while making short bursts of speed.
After there is some heat in the brakes and slicks just before the start I start turning aggressively to test the grip getting my confidence up in the grip before the start.
Or as my Kiwi racer friend says weaving is for wankers. :)

Thank you, it was built for and raced in IMSA GTO and SCCA Trans Am in 88' and 89'.
Historic racing rules require it remain in spec as raced in the 80s.
So today it looks and runs just like it did when new in 88'.

Next race for the 110 is in April on the Streets of Long Beach.
Jerry Kuhn is seen here airborne before the first turn at Long Beach.
Funny story I saw this Hot Rod Magazine photo back in 88' at a supermarket.
I thought man I like my cars too much to treat them like that!
Now I'm going on 14 years of racing the same car I saw airborne in the magazine in 88'. :)

I did race on Streets of Long Beach a few years ago.
Unfortunately in about the same place Jerry was airborne the car decided to break the snout off the crank and I had to coast off the track.

This year the car is ready and I will have a few hundred sim laps on Streets of Long Beach again before we the April Long Beach race.:)

Cool video. Have you thought about going to a cue-ball type shifter knob? It looks like your hand is constantly looking for the right position to be in when you make a shift? That really stuck out to me for some reason!

Super cool. My last race of the season is on Saturday. It’s a bit of an exhibition race, not for points but it’s at Area27 so we are going. My son and I will each do 90 mins in my car.

I gotta get back to Laguna Seca next year, it’s been too long.

Wow that's a lot of seat time, good luck!
All my races feel like exhibition, we are vintage racing just having fun.
As they say in our drivers meeting your car already has good history the only history you can make for it is bad history. ;)

Our last race of the year just a week away.
A little bit of heaven the new 711hp/500tq 18 degree engine.
Surprisingly this is my first new set of valve covers or fresh heat color coated headers on any car in the last 25 years.🎃🎃🎃

Bryans racing enterprises put the ultimate generic track set up on the car.
Generic because we race this car at several different tracks.
Lowered the front 1/2 inch and lowered the back 1 inch. Lower CG and added mechanical grip.
Put a little more gear in it went from a 3.70 to a new lightened 3.89 R&P.
Should see 7900rpm at 160mph on the front straight at Big Willow next weekend.
In a week off to the VARA Big Bore Bash with a new set of slicks and a tank of 110 leaded fuel.
If track and weather conditions permit perhaps we can improve on our 1.21pb.

Life in better at the track. 😎👍🏁

I love how a T/A or GT-1 will lay down a layer of rubber dust on a corner and the next car will pick it back up. It was interesting to do Tech on the T/A cars before practice on Friday. My wife had to steer a T/A back to it's paddock after it broke down on the track and the driver headed for the motor home. Got it back and the crew could not believe she could possible have followed a hot flat tow around the track and through the infield without the power steering. A friend of ours got a picture of her going past in it and she left her pig sticker in the drivers seat for the crew to find and return to her. Photographer sent her a print later.

Agree impossible to race without power steering very heavy steering with 13 inch wide front slicks.
At least it did not have a spool in it. lol
But on track steering is light(er) still wrestling a car, very firm brake pedal, no abs or power boost.
Both have an open diff so I can get on the power sooner. (and turn them in my driveway;))

The 4th gen is tops for me, content with that combo.
