Quite a toolbox
Quite a tool collection, quite a shop, and one hellofa mechanic.
Yep, a long haul to watch...and maybe I'm too easily impressed...but... <iframe width="678" height="381" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/xrHtzSIh2GQ" title="The Mechanic Johnny Cash and Elvis Would’ve Wanted (Toolbox Tour)" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
How do you use the upper third of that?

He has a step stool. Jeff Milburn auto fab...only sort of covers it. He does cars for TV, Movies, ads, etc...also a stunt driver/bike rider, lots of interesting tales attached to specialty tools, and more. (edit) what amazed me was that with every tool in those jam packed drawers, he could remember the job he bought it for.

What's laughable about rollaways is when they get past a certain size won't roll. You could tow it but the casters better be set up right.
I just bought two 42" lower boxes and the first thing I did was remove the casters and install adjustable legs to level them. Actually they don't have drawer locks which I don't like but I also fear the thought of an earthquake just big enough to open some drawers. Wouldn't take that many before the whole enchilada is laying face down. So I tilt them back just a tad. The old slide guides were never a problem but the newer roller bearing guides are pretty easy to open. One box has thumb operated spring locks. Another has a little bit of a detent. Yeah, I have that many lower boxes, about 7 of them. Not all 42", just 4. :D |

I have a small rolling toolbox, as I don't have that many tools.
A few years back when I needed to take out the transfer case out of my Chevy 4x4 pickup, I learned why professional mechanics have such big tool boxes. While I managed to do it with strange combinations of ratchet extensions and swivels, just a few of the specialty wrenches the Snap-On guy has in his truck would have made the job go in less than half the time. No way could I earn a living trying to wrench on cars with my handful of wrenches, sockets and screwdrivers. A two-hour job will take me three days. |
I could use another box. In many drawers, I have tools layered on each other. I’d like to have them spread out so that I can see them easier.

"Gee, I wish I'd bought a smaller toolbox"...said no guy ever.

^LOL I was just looking at used toolboxes on cl/fb right before reading this.
Fortunately, even the used ones are ridiculous expensive, so no new toolboxes for me. |
