Replacement batteries for a Neato vacuum question...
I have two Neatos a D3 and a D7 (awesome tech imo, perfect for my needs) and they are awesome. One is dead, and the other is almost there... there were no viable, easy, options when the company went "poof ... gone"
.Now I see replacements that I'm willing to try ... but these might disappear too in the future. Do they have a shelf-life? I will buy 2 for each if not, and I could even rotate/cycle them to keep 'em happy for a longer time. Whaddaya think ... thanks! Can't upload a pic ... wrong format... sorry. Looking at Amazon, they have lots of them for Neatos....I wouldn't worry about them being na.
I find the replacements usually come with better capacity than the original and last longer. My Roomba was at least 12 years old and on it's second battery when it finally just wouldn't work anymore. I replaced it with a $50 Genius Evo from Menards and it's been working fine for 3 years now. The prices on new ones are better than they used to be.

I want a replacemt that has all the battey "smarts" as the OEM ones... most of those don't.
Looks like one source is clearing out the warehouse of the originals ... none of these options were available a couple of years that's why I asked about "shelf life" ... I'm gonna buy one ... make sure it works for both Neatos and then buy 1 more ... and mebbe an extra or 2. Love the bots

Yours sounds diff than mine. Mine uses just a plain dumb battery
...similar to a laptop battery. The replacement I bought had the same mAh numbers, but that was all that matched. Mine will run a full two hours before it heads to the recharge. The original battery would only go a little over one hour. .

Now I have two dead bots
![]() I PO'd the D7 ... It must've used it's wireless connection and the battery read PPOT ... But overcharge protection, and a few other things make it smart enough for me to be picky about snagging OEMs ... the D3 had a 1hr and the D7 had 90 minutes originally, and good enough... any more is nice too. The D7 wouldn't charge today... last run was 50 minutes. That's why I started the thread yesterday .... I knew it was time for it to croak

I had the same problem. I looked at the available batteries on Amazon and threw the Neato out.

I bought a cheapo Amazon for my D5 and was satisfied. I'm kinda off the Neato since they went kaput and I bought a Dyson and use my arms. I'm only 1500 sq feet tho so doing it myself beats watching a robot stuggle forever just to get the living room clean

I ordered a battery yesterday. If you still have the D5 (and charging base... they aren't compatable between my D3/D7) and want to get rid of it... I'll buy it). I use them offline, dumbed down, and they are perfect for a 1K basement or garage etc.). And by observing how the AI code works, using the Lidar ... I love them
... and optimize their placement and use.I wish I had the source code tho' .... I would improve them ... a LOT ... or break them ![]() Thanks! |
