I'm gushing with pride. my younger brother is retiring.

he never strayed. as a tiny kid he wanted to be a policeman.

he took classes in it, got a degree and stayed a cop forever. he promoted as high as he wanted. he turned down a crack at being top-cop. he sucks at playing politics.

he's done in a month. unless he chickens out. hahah..

I hope to send him to a friend in Florida to help him hook a Tarpon. hahah.

The cop life is tough, working nights when the body say it should be asleep and all the stress isn’t great for longevity, so retiring early is an excellent choice.

Good luck to him and I’m proud of him as well!

Pretty much all the cops I knew loved the night shift- all the action happens at night and way less bureaucracy than the day shift.

My college buddy was a cop. A grueling career. My hat is off to anyone who does this.

Give my congrats to your Bro!

May he enjoy retirement...you mentioned Florida...think he'll retire there? Zero state income tax is quite an incentive...

Congrats to your brother! Thank him for his service. IMHO, being a cop is just as valuable to society as a whole as being in the military, paramedic, fireman, etc....
