understanding people, and my neighbor.

I was out of town for a bit. I locked my gates to the backyard. why?

because of one neighbor. I granted them access to my recycle bin ONCE,. he would fill it up on occasion if he saw it out on the street curbside. not a problem until it was. hahah..

I came home once and saw a red sticker on my can. it was still FULL!! I read the sticker and my recycling wasn't picked up because it was full of cheap styrofoam...WTF? I was instructed to sift thru the stuff, take out the offending items and call them..I was also fined. GAH!! I was so polite to the trash lady she waived my fine. I told her what happened and texted her an amazon box with my neighbors address on it. haha.. she admonished me that it is noted on my account and there will be no get out of jail card next time..I agreed.

I never did tell my neighbor. life is too short. they are nice enough. friendly almost. I would take a peek now and again, to double check.. they still did it, but I rarely found non-recyclables. but 3 weeks of my empty bin? nope..I zip tied my gate. it was annoying but nothing near the nuclear option of neighborly love.

my 96 year old neighbor just told me they went and filled her bin!! old purses and other no recyling things. hahaha.. I KNEW IT!! my neighbor didnt get checked and all was removed.

the people across the street moved while I was gone. I can only imagine what they would have dumped if they had my cans. hahhah.. people are funny. and somewhat predictable.

No good deeds goes unpunished. Some people are like that, and don't know when to stop. Give them an inch, they take a mile. Once every blue moon and if you have a bunch of recyclable junk, fine, dump it in mine, but don't dump siht in there that cause your neighbor head aches. Some people are just not cool, like some people that walk their dogs that dump dog siht in my can. Smell horrible in the summer heat but they don't seem to care.

You are a good man, my friend. I would have blown up their house, round up all their families, relatives from around the world, killed them off and water board the owner for all to see in my block.

I was with you until you didn't tell your neighbor. My friend Chris and I used to have micro-arguments about things like this. He was "life is too short." I was "they need to know so they don't do it again with the kicker, as you found out, don't do it to other people."

My consideration is for the well-being others, not for the offender. And the offender may be very nice, they just need a little nudge.

But you are a very kind soul.

So the neighbors that almost got you fined moved while you were gone or was that a different neighbor that moved?

At least she waved the fine. Although I may have said, "hey, just FYI, styrofoam isn't recycleable, and they fined me because you put that in my bin." Maybe that would solve the problem.

Does the neighbor have a bin and it gets full, so they use yours? I would’ve put the Styrofoam in their bin.

This neighborhood I’m building in, we are required to have screened in dumpsters. People throw trash, furniture, etc. in them.

I don’t know how they do it, but when people walk their dog, they throw their bagged dog **** over the enclosure, but miss the dumpster. If I see it laying on the ground, I throw it on the empty lot next-door, behind the curb so they can see it. One time, that threw three bags of dog **** on the lot next-door.

I am not really a fan of your ex-neighbor, Vash.

Good deeds do seem to be punished. I really hate that. No idea how to change my life however. I don't plan on turning into a huge azz.

On the garbage note? I broke up some concrete a while back. Chunks keep going into my trash can. No body has said anything yet. I am not charged by the pound. So I will do it until I can't. I feel like I am cheating or something. (but I don't care!!!)

Lol youre one of those guys. Sometimes I see rocks and rubble in my neighbors cans and there is a clean fill dump site right across the street from their house!

That's kinda harsh. Do you really think it's necessary to expose the entire neighborhood to the water boarding?

Yes, been dreaming about it since I learned about this torture method.:D Never seen it done. Come on man, don't go getting soft on me now.

If I lived in between Cliff and Jeff ... I would be their perfect neighbor :).

Just don't try to understand me.....

I don't either :D

Some people are dicks and take advantage of other people, most people maybe

It would not have changed their behavior if you spoke to them, not a chance.

How many times did you see a red tag on their bin? They did not do it by mistake twice.

We had some renters next door for a while...
I put out a nice table for charity pick up.
2 years later the renters are moving and have a garage sale and there is the our table in the driveway for sale.
Once you put it on the street its up for grabs.

I did the same thing with a nice dining room table. The renters next door took it, put skids on top and made a dock. Only lasted a couple of days.

They say fences and boundaries make for nice neighbors and I tend to agree, a tall wide hedge works also. [emoji38]
