car/cycle scam on my doorstep
 

i have been contacted by a scammer tryi9ng to get my motorcycle advertised online, the deal where they send a check for too much, then you send them the remainder. ist a yahoo address. i read here someone else had this recently too. who is best to report this to, so the scammer gets squashed?

Insist on meeting in person :)

This is a scam. The certified check they'll send you will be bogus, but you won't know that until your bank tells you some time after.

Not sure what authorities care about this.
