OT and maybe I'll P someone off but need help.

I have bid on an A8 for my wife on Ebay and I am a little nervous about it. Could someone run this VIN through Carfax WAUBG34D6XN002042 I know this is frowned on by some so I accept any flames I may get for asking. Thanks.

Wow, that's such a great price, I put in a bid as well. I promise not to go higher than .... just kidding. Free bump and get your fire suit ready.

Why not just pay to have the Carfax done? Is it that expensive? There is a service on Ebay that you click on and it costs $4.95. I did it when I bought my Porsche and it told me all I needed to know. Not flaming, just being realistic.

I understand, I just hate filling out the forms and such. It's kinda like when I call up my buddy to check the "black book" prices for me. I could obtain one myself but my buddy already has one, ya know.

I know what you mean.... the service on Ebay is pretty good for $4.95 though. It gives you a report in about 2 minutes that verifies the mileage and the cleanliness of the title etc.

well, "verify" is a strong word. It is some due dilligence that is worth something, but there is plenty of stuff that doesn't show up on a carfax, and if someone wants to wash the title, they can. My wife loves her A8.

see how much the extended warranty is. That is getting up there in miles, and these are not cheap cars to fix.

Thanks for the advice Nostatic. I agree about the miles and I actually kinda hoping to be outbid now as I dont want to go to Texas to pick it up real bad. We shall see.

if the auction isn't over call or email the seller and request to have your bid removed, don't settle on something you're not sure about

I've been considering an A8 for some time now. A question that I have that I haven't gotten a good answer to is: Are they more expensive to insure than say an S500 due to their all-aluminum construction?
