Le Tour de France

I want to say thank you for guys for telling me the time to watch the Tour.

I watched it Live .. MY God was it amazing. Ulrich challengeing Thomas early, and ultimately failing....Then on the last and most grueling climb...Thomas falls and almost falls again....then out of shear determination and ability put the petal to the metal and blew them all away. The man just dominates his sport thats all that can be said.

Not to mention he is a cancer survivor, who had testicular which spread to his lungs and brain in '96 which required brain surgery to remove it all, and came back to ride again- let alone become competitive and win.

He won the World Championship road race in 1993 at the age of 21. Absolutely shelled his competition in the final 10 minutes after 6 hrs in the rain. One of the finest pieces of sport I've EVER seen.

Yep. And he's helped restore the somewhat tarnished image the sport had after 1 or 2 drugs scandals.

As my 350-lb, 5'10 friend used to say,

"Any 'sport' where a guy looking like me can become an Olympic contender doesn't qualify as a sport."

(he was referring to either bowling or archery, I believe)

Lance has done it! Survived a very dangerous Time trial and even added to his lead unfortunately at the expense of Ulrich's fall. Too bad the conditions were so bad, a flat out race by Armstrong and Ulrich would have been fantastic. In the end though L.A. showed he truely is one the greatest bike racers of all time.
