				What about trade-in

Just a question...with all of these folks seeming to have such a hard time selling their early to mid '80s 911s and looking to buy 993s, boxters, etc. what would happen if you simply traded it in? So many boxters and 993s at dealers would seem to be the easiest and at least you don't sit for months and months with an unsold car.... do dealers really give you nothing for a well maintained early 911? just curious...not selling or anything

no, they don't. A nice 3.2 car might get $7K.

WOW really, OK.....just purely book value? Even my insurance which is based on depreciating value not collectors insurance would give me more if I were to total it....

A friend recently sold his mint 87 turbo with 25,000 miles on it. The local dealer offered him $20,000. He got $35,500 from a private party.
