Ok, this was dumb...
Remember the MPG of the piano being dropped on the 911?
Like a moron, I decided to copy it to my http://vintagebus.com site and posted it in the gallery. The next thing you know, everyone and their brother has posted a link to it on forums like pelican. One of the other admins on my server sends out a paniced "WTF" message - in 2 days we'd sucked up 142GB of bandwidth - normally it's 19GB a month. The bill for the overage is $2600+ |
Ouch! Sorry to hear about that.
|
I noticed they were spareing the duckage.

LOL, what's that link again...
|
That happened to a friend of mine recently, but not to US$2600!

I know it's not right to laugh out loud at someone else's misfortune but I just couldn't help myself. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/128.gif
sound heard throughout the office halls when that bill was opened... "DOH!" |
$2,600.00 is rather a lot of money. Sorry but it equals a holiday in Fiji, completely new exhaust system made of stainless steel, new seats and carpet set....
|
I think it's time you found a new plan. $2600 for 142 GB is usuary man! Fer cryin' out loud!
|
2600$??
Jeezz...i have my server "piggybacked" on 10Mbit broadband connection at friends mom. (We can get 10Mbit Ethernet broadband here in sweden for 35$ / month). It costs nothing and will survive quite a lot trafic. |
Welcome to the /. (slashdot.org) effect. http://ssadler.phy.bnl.gov/adler/SDE/SlashDotEffect.html
