GDNF2ET, your avatar is the Zuni warrior from "Trilogy of Terror," right? I thought that story with Karen Black was great.

State of the Art, Baby!!

This was our A/V setup circa 1979 when my dad was stationed in Japan. I don't know that the TV was that hot, but the stereo was. I was 9 at the time.

When people say that Gibraltar is "The Rock", they mean it.

I could be wrong, but I think that they're Kenwoods. I'm not sure why I think that. I was so young, I don't remember that much about them. Our house was robbed when I was 12 and they were stolen.

Is this what your Bose look like?

When our house was robbed, the insurance company replaced my dad's gear instead of giving us cash. They replaced those speakers with Acoustic Research speakers, AR9LS

This is what my dad's Audio gear looked like then. I still have his Sansui Z-9000.

Not my picture, but these are the AR9LS speakers

12" forward firing acousitc suspension woofer
10" down firing acoustic suspension woofer loaded by Bass Contour Chamber
8" acoustic suspension lower-midrange driver in its own sub-enclosure
1.5" dome upper-midrange driver
.75" dome highrange driver
Voltage Sensitivity: 2.83 volts produces 90dB SPL a 1 meter on axis
Efficiency: 1 watt produces 87dB SPL at 1 meter on axis

I Had a pair of KEF like that not long ago,
they had a slatted pop-off wooden front
behind which was IIRC one 8" flat fronted bass and a couple of mid + high range as well
