I used to be the one going up the 50' mast on the racing boat at night under sail. Oddly, no one else wanted to but to me, it was a hoot. Climbing an antenna I would do in a heartbeat.

[QUOTE=Por_sha911;8559634]Sure it does. Fat, stupid, AND works for the federal govt!]

I work for the Federal Government and am quite proud of that fact. Some of us do have scruples and care about the work we perform. I am responsible for ensuring safe operation of facilities at our site and take that commitment quite seriously. You should be glad that I do!

Thanks for your service devodave - I hope you are treated fairly in your employment!

A random wall in the hills above me:

The first time I noticed it I thought it was from a Model T, but the IH - could that be International Harvester?

Man you shoulda heard that car!

Government Service

David,
Thanks for the kind words. I have been treated very fairly in my career, which has consisted of work in the private sector as well as the Federal Government. That fair treatment has more to do with hard work and a good work ethic than being in the right place at the right time. Government workers, federal, state, and local, often get a bad rap due to a few (or maybe more) bad apples. But there are bad apples in all sectors and professions. It is disappointing to see one use such a broad stoke of the brush.

I'm only guessing, but I think this guy got tired of his house washing out...

I think I've posted this before, but I'd sure like to know what these were for hanging under the house:

Levels. Pour a little water in either upright on the end, it's going to find your low. Jack and adjust plates accordingly.

They also look like they make nice built in scaffolding hangers for planks when servicing or painting.

The columns and walls in direction of slope allow for soil creep, common on the west coast.
