Travis.. hopefully in no time you will be standing on that 7.0 Patterson board, if you would have listen to me earlier and get a 8.4 to 9.0 it would be more fun for you to learn...

You suggested AFTER I bought the board...I'll learn, I'm too determined for this to not...Hopefully the 8.6 you have will help lower that learning curve a bit

This is real!

This apparently is a legit plate, it was in the back too. Oddly found it in my parking lot in Arlington, VA - Democratic stronghold of Virginia.

Skittles, as in, "Beer and Skittles!"

Where did you GET that?

Harlequin,

I do know the game. Its called Bar Billiard. Fun game to play!

The table has a timer which drops an internal bar. Each hole has different scores and you must not drop the pins.

I wish I remember some more about it. We played it after/while drinking "Tangle Foot" beer in West Sussex. As the name implies, your feet get tangled and you don't really remember a lot of things afterwards......................

Both of you are right about that. The pins are called skittles, apparently, and when we played it we just called the whole game skittles. This cabin I was staying at in Canada has it. The owner bought it and had it refurbished a little so it's functioning. Needs to be recovered, but otherwise it's perfect.

Really fun to play too. Different holes, different points. Different "skittle" placement, different difficulty level. At the end of the round (when no balls go in) you tally up your score and add it to whatever you already had. If you knock a skittle down, you lose the points you racked up during that turn.

I love playing pool so I was naturally drawn to it, even though it has a much more "russian roulette" feel to it. Even though it's just a bar game, you can definitely use some billiard skills to play it. I found that using carom shots off the object ball was really helpful for the big scores.

Bar billiards - That brings back lots of student memories! Then the student union bar went fashionable and put in a pool table. Also fun but I'm more nostalgic about bar billiards.

I'll take a double, no tomato, no mayo and add a pound of bacon. And a Diet Coke.

Oh, and a cardiac needle full of adrenaline.

Where can I get one of those? The most I have had is 3 -1/2 pound burgers and that took me about an hour while watching recorded Lakers games back in 2000.
