+10 for originality!

Oh, and why-oh-why do insist on "quoting" an entire series of pics?

It is possible to cut the pics from your "quote" you know...

If that was a dog, I would shave it's a$$ and teach it to walk backwards.

Hay Purry, Think this will buff out?

Maybe he could barrow your duct tape and a can of WD40?

Somebody didn't get any purry this weekend.

Is there some description of the Ferrari accident, pics look nice, the driver obviously did a thorough job, couldn't be accused of not finishing what he started.

I had a friend in college that did the same thing to a vette and lived to tell about it, hope this guy was just as fortunate.

hey, byron..you and k9handler seem to be bike authorities. do ya'll remember a bike made around 1975-76 that was called an 'emmex' i think? it was over $100 at the time, which was expensive. it was yellow and had coil shocks in rear and piston-looking (no coil) shocks in front. the bike was pretty heavy, had a fake plastic gas tank on it i removed and a round plastic number attached up front, banana-style seat. fenders were yellow or white plastic. it was a 10th b-day present..haven't seen one in years.

also, remember the bikes from the early 70's with big, huge chain covers? an older kid i knew had one with a round steering wheel like a car. they had those wide slicks on the rear, chopper-style small tire up front. verrrry cool boke in the day.

Yes, here it is.

Dad, Can I Borrow the Ferrari???

New Ferrari for Dad $1,000,000

Son borrows Dad's new car to try out...... and hits Power Pole at 200 MPH.

The driver only had some bruising (seat belt)

and 2 small cuts.

Car loss? $1 Million bucks!
Waiting list for a new one? 2 years.
When can son drive Dad's car again? Next life time.
When will kid not be grounded and see the light of day?
Same day the polar ice caps melt.
But he is still alive....
Priceless................

Car only had 9 miles on it and one mile of it was during the wreck.

this accident is famous... together w/ a sketchy story and characters to go w/ it.

google: enzo accident malibu and you should get a lot of it...

search on ppot under enzo/malibu will give a long-ish thread containing interesting links ab the story as well...

edit: Destroyed Enzo in Malibu

Composite fan blade containment case
http://www.compositesworld.com/hpc/issues/2005/May/866

A fan case made from A&P's braided preform, showing the integral flanges and the profile formed on the capstan.

Quote:
NASA GRC's materials research engineer Gary Roberts led a research project to develop the new generation of composite fan case materials, to demonstrate improved containment capability and damage tolerance for composite materials; demonstrate commercial feasibility; and mitigate the risk of using the new composite technology. A&P Technology's Mike Braley demonstrated the containment capability, damage tolerance and commercial feasibility of a braided reinforcement during a NASA-sponsored SBIR Program.......................(pg 2) The technology has been successfully demonstrated for the hardwall-type case and may find its first application on a turbofan jet engine built by Williams International (Walled Lake, Mich.).

That sounds a lot like a Yamaha, but Rampar, Girder and a few others built some too
