I'm quite familiar what a Lister Jag is. That car is no lister, although they've obviously borrowed from it. The shoe box on the hood, for one looks out of place. Hence my comment about some angles looking good, but the package missing the mark.

Thanks Syl. Yes we're very lucky, we have a nice view of the river and we are a 5 minute walk to a couple nice secluded beaches. In the summer, we go swimming just about every day after work, rain or shine.

I'm going to put a drink holder on the kayaks; seems every time we go out we either sit out on the river with a beer or a coffee.

As for the images, I have hit & miss luck with resizing. I double checked on those ones, and it lookes like my wife had already resized them once, maybe that was the problem.

Mandatory pic, my first car:

Re: Re: beck 904 at hershey last month

Mr. Beck was kind enough to allow a local PCA member to autocross this car the next day.

Here's a video.

How many times am I going to get this email

FROM :MR. ASMA SAVIMBI,
Email :asma_103savimbi@hotmail.comPH:+27-73-971-9009

Attention:

Good day to you.

This mail for sure will be a surprise to you because it is coming from a stanger, but never the less it is going to be of immence benefit to you. I saw your contact address at the chambers book of commerce, here in South Africa and I feel you will be capable in this business venture.

I write this with utmost humility, trust and confidence. However, it is my pleasure appealing for your assistance at this point in time. My name is Mr. ASMA SAVIMBI the eldest son of the second wife to the late rebel leader in Angola, Mr. JONAS SAVIMBI of blessed memory. My father has been the cause of the civil war in my country since 1975. The government of Angola wanted him dead all these years. Now he is dead. Before he died, he kept some amount of money in a trunk box and he kept it in a private security company in South Africa for safe keeping.

The real content of the box was not disclosed to the Security Company. The total amount of money he kept there was US$ 30.8M [Thirty Million Eight hundred thousand United States Dollars}. And he instructed me that in the event of his death that I should judiciosly utilise the money in a profitable business for the upkeep of the family.

Since the death of my father, government agents has been consistently threatening our lives, we therefore decided to leave Angola for South Africa. Presently we are seeking asylum here in South Africa. Because of our refugee status, we are unable to operate a bank account above $2,000.00. In this business venture 30% of the total money will be yours ,5% will be set out for all unforeseen expences and the remaining 65% will be for my family and I.

Are you willing to help me to transfer this money into your country through your account? If you are please reply me immediately using my contact e-mail address above. I want to invest this money in a profitable business after the transfer.

It is absolutely a confidential transaction. What we need from you is your consent. All documents regarding the money and the Security Company are intact. This is a call from a family that is in dare need of assistance. I will be very appreciative if you can return to me with urgent dispatch to enable me advise you on the modalities.

I await in anticipation to receive your immediate response.

Best Regards,

MR. ASMA SAVIMBI.

The faux Lister is more of a Lister Corvette than a Lister Jag recreation. I seem to recall that the latest incarnation of the Studebaker/Avanti company was making these things.

The shoe box on the hood is actually one of the more accurate parts of the car, in my opinion.

Fake,...er, tribute car

Versus original Lister Corvettes, circa 1960:

Love the message on the screen of the Renault, I wonder how many other Pelicanites first cars ended up in similar mangled condition?

My first car certainly did, I think I have posted this before but what the hell...

Yep! I owned that car for 7 years, even drove it to the yukon!

At one point I got a great deal on some racing parts from Archer Racing, who ran the Renault Cup for years. Headers, crossflow head, Weber 36dcoe. ~125hp. Very, very fun car.

The weber was really to much carb for the street, it only really ran decent at 3k+. Sure sounded great though

Was totalled in Montreal actually, got hit head-on in an intersection. Sad day when it was towed away

One of my "donor" cars:

32' sitka spruce sailboat mast. I won the bet.
