I love it when you're able to catch someone before they "make it big" and move up to larger venues. I'm going to start another thread so as not to hijack this one (anymore:)....

+1.

I spent Porsche-$$$ to make a '70 VW drive like an early 911. Despite beautiful handling, there's still no AC, funky engine temperature issues, weird electrical troubles .... I'm selling this thing and going back to 911s.

There were 7 others. It was a bit surreal.

URY914, the History Channel had something a couple of days ago about special Russian/Soviet tanks which would cross rivers by crawling on the bottom. Many of the testing crews drowned because the modified tanks would get stuck in the soft mucky silt. I have not seen this model before, do you have a link of other information on it?

Love the Sunn bumper sticker. Used to play through a coliseum rig. Bone shaking!

Being a former Corner Worker, I too would be pissed if some hotshot English F1 driver peeled out and threw rocks all over me after I just rescued him from the gravel trap. That picture is a classic. I'm sure most of you know that the reverse peace sign is the Euro equivilant of the "Bird".:p

I used to frequent an English pub and knew all the guys. One night, came in after the bar was full and held my hand up in the two finger salute. I didn't think much of it, since it the pub is in L.A., but he jokingly reminded me as to what I just did, by threatening to throw me out of the bars only window. :D

I'd post a random pic, but I have nothing stored on other servers...

No no no no no..

The reverse V sign is ONLY the 'bird' in the UK.. not in Europe..they are as unimpressed by it as you in the US are...

Legend has it the 'V' sign originated with Henry V's Welsh longbow men during his wars in France.. They would taunt the French (so nothing new there) by showing them the two fingers used to draw the bow string bakc to fire the long bow. seeing as a the time the 'English' (actually the majority were Welsh) archers were the onyl users of long bows in Europe, they could do so out of range of the cross bows used by the French and their Swiss Mercenaries.

The punishment for captured longbow men was to have those very same fingers removed.

So this cornerman may have been German or not, but unless he was from the UK its unlikely it s deliberate 'F-U' to Hamilton, who afterall drives a Merc....
